Melsask Motel

It is clean and comfortable and the location is convenient for visiting my Mother at St. Paul Lutheran Home.

The rooms are dated and could use upgrading.

The location was fine, and suited our needs. The staff treated us well, and for the most part, our stay was as expected in the medium-sized town of Melville, Sk. There isn't a lot of choice for lodging in the town, but we needed to be there for Thanksgiving, so this is where we stayed for 3 days. The town itself is quite nice, and has lots of amenities for its size.

Well, the room was Very small, much more so than we'd expected. Other patrons continuously parked in our stall, even though there was 'overflow' parking in the center of the lot. I'm okay, but my wife had difficulty pushing her walker in between the large trucks parked right in front of our room! Then, we found it impossible to control the heat in our room? When we arrived, it seemed okay, but later the furnace wouldn't stop running, and it became stifling in the room! There was no response from the thermostat at all!? After 3 hours or so, it shut off, then cycled properly for the rest of the night! I mentioned this to a staff member, but they didn't seem to understand me. Every night was the same, almost as if control of the heating in our room was coming from another room? Very strange, but it was quite uncomfortable...

I knew this in advance that there wasn't a breakfast, and that was not a problem for me at all. The owners, management and staff (all one and the same) were outstanding. They were most accomadating, respectul, considerate, polite and quick to help. They are just straight up Excellent! The room was awesome as far as I'm concerned. I slept well all four nights, so no noise concerns, as other guests were considerate. I highly recommend Melsask Motel to others.
