Pinkys Pod at Rock Lodge

The pod is a lovely little pod hidden away in Northumberland. It’s clean and exactly what you’d expect. There’s a basic kitchen, shower and a comfy double bed. There’s also a sofa bed too. The pigs and chickens made our stay with our littlies (3,1) they loved waking up to them on a morning! The pod is the Perfect location for Alnwick and surrounding areas. 😊

As a family of 4 it was small for us but obviously we knew it would be tight before we came. A few bits could do with a spruce up but other than that it’s fab.

The location was about 300 yards off the A1 and about 5 miles off Alnwick town Centre. It was ideal as I could commute to places like Seahouses, Bamburgh, Alnwick and Berwick. I was in a clean and tidy pod with a shower, toilet, fridge, microwave, TV and Wi-Fi and they also left some milk for me in the refrigerator. I also liked the pigs and chicken which I could feed them.

I have no complaints

It’s a well located and reasonably priced accommodation which is perfect for visiting the beautiful Northumbrian coast. I appreciated the TV and wifi for relaxing in the evening. The owner is friendly and helpful.

Jen and Shaun were excellent hosts. The location was ideal for our break. In spite of being close to A1, traffic noise was not an issue. The pod was clean and tidy. It was pleasantly secluded and good to have the off road parking. Nice to be surrounded by livestock.

Unfortunately it appears that the hot water supply over the kitchen sink had been removed (not sure why), and this made washing up a bit of a challenge. Also, as mentioned to Shaun, it would be useful to have a hob installed, in addition to the microwave and toaster, so that meals can be better prepared.

We visited pinkys pod this weekend as a small family of three. As soon as we arrived at the pod we were greeted by the friendliest chickens who ate food straight from our hands. Shawn the owner arrived shortly after to also greet us and introduce us to the most adorable pigs who were super friendly. The owners Shawn and Jennifer were wonderful hosts who made sure we were having a lovely time. The pod itself was extremely welcoming and cosy. The perfect size for the 3 of us. It was clean and in perfect condition with all kitchenware needed. We also asked to buy some eggs ahead of our visit which were in the fridge along with fresh milk when we arrived, a very lovely touch. The animals for us were a huge selling point and they did not disappoint. Will 100% be visiting rock lodge again later in the year. Fantastic stay all round.
