Pinkys Pod at Rock Lodge

The pod is located within the owners garden in a shaded area and has a general air of neglect. The major negative is that the A1 runs along the headrest of the bed so you feel the reverberation and hear the noise of traffic all night. We had a very disturbed night so checked out a day early as it felt too depressing to return there. We had not researched the location adequately before booking. It has a tired look in need of some tlc. There were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling above the bed and in the lightshades and general cleanliness was poor and the pod felt damp. We had an inkling when we first arrived that there was an issue with traffic noise as there were packets of ear plugs on the table. The laminated sheets of important information were about not leaving the power on or overloading the system and lacked any hospitable welcome. It would have been helpful to have some instruction regarding the hot water dispenser for drinks. We had been looking forward to staying somewhere quirky but sadly Pinky Pod disappointed.

Lovely pod, well appointed, great location and the owners were very friendly and helpful.

We weren’t able to use any of the outside seating due to being covered in chicken poop. On the flip side it was nice to see the chickens roaming.

Pod was deceptively spacious with a lovely bathroom. Both beds comfortable and the sofa bed pulled out into a decent sized small double bed as well that didn't take up all the floor space, so it wasn't awkward to move around even when that was set up. Little heater got the space lovely and cozy, kitchenette was well equipped and the place was nice and close to towns if you want to go out to eat as well.

This is a very charming pod, in a lovely setting and location. The host was friendly, and I enjoyed feeding the animals there. Plenty of hot water, the kettle...although not a standard kettle....worked juet fine for making cups of tea. Great having a full sized fridge to store food over the weekend too and a microwave to heat it up.

Unfortunately, there are a few things that I feel could be improved. It needs de-humidifiers hanging up, even just some on the curtain rail might help, because the condesation by the second day made things feel damp. The sofa and bed are quite firm I so didn't manage to get truly comfy during the stay. Lastly, the shower size. I understand this is a small pod at a great price, but as a slightly bigger lady (5ft 10 and size 18), I had to really squeeze myself to fit through the shower cubicle doors. If anyone larger than me tried they would not fit and then are without use of a shower for their stay. Perhaps this should be noted on the listing?

Brilliant location, easy to get to everything. Kids loved opening the curtains to see the chickens every morning. Warmed up really quickly with the heater. Didn't need it on all the time. Might be cramped if staying for longer period of time but was perfect for me and 2 kids for 2 nights. Would stay again.

Nothing. Missed having a hob to cook but I knew that what it had before booking and still great facilities for a glamping style holiday

Lovely little pod, clean and tidy

Had the most lovely week at Pinky's Pod with my partner. A great base of operations for any holiday in Northumberland, with just a two second drive to the A1 you can get to many beaches and places within 10-20 minutes! With the warm light lamps, at night it's the most cosiest bubble of relaxation. Not to mention the most friendliest chickens! I LOVED feeding them and chatting to them every morning. Seeing them having a quick nap by our front door was adorable. Didn't see the pigs much but managed to give them some apples to munch on! The hosts were very lovely and simply cannot fault our time with them 😁❤️ Highly recommend! Also Hok Wok in Alnwick is a great Chinese takeaway, 10 mins down the road 😁 we also ate at the Market Tavern (Alnwick as well) and had a fab meal there too!

Noticed a slight draft came from the overhead window by the bed on our last couple nights (the weather took a little turn at the end of the week!). but with the heater on it was rarely noticeable! It was no bother! 😁❤️

They have pigs and chickens on your door step that you can feed. The owners were lovely and really easy to get hold of. Very convenient location, out of the busy towns but only a short drive away and easy to find. Its got all you need as a base for a short break.
