"Decent Place to Stop"

6.0

A fairly ordinary hotel. The paint and decorations were very bright in the room (orange paint) which was interesting, and it had kind of a south-west feeling. Pros: Powerful A/C, reliable wireless internet, and the bathroom (at least in my room) appeared to be newly remodeled. Breakfast was at least as good as any other hotel, even in larger towns. Cons: There were a lot of stray cats around the parking lot.

"Not Much Else to Chose From"

6.0

We were in Medicine Lodge to see the Medicine Lodge Museum and Carry Nation's Home. Your choices here are slim but this looked like the best place. The room was small and the furnishings old but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast bar was extremely limited to say the least but the coffee was good.

"Traveling through"

4.0

Old motel and dated. Ice machine worked but made a loud banging while getting ice. AC unit worked but made weird noise all night. Plenty of parking. Could use a facelift. We were passing through so it served the purpose for night.

"Pratt is 20 minutes away!"

2.0

I travel for business and I have stayed in countless hotels over the last ten years. The website says the rooms are newly remodeled. My room had not been painted in the last ten years at least. There was not a cover on the bed just a sheet and the comforter. My furniture was allot older and in worse condition than the ones in the pictures. Every hotel will normally gives you a late check to 12 if not longer. I called the front desk to say I would be checking out just twenty minutes later than 11 am. The desk clerk said that was fine. Within seven minutes someone was knocking at my door. I said "I have a late checkout". Then they started beating on my door very hard. I opened the door and I was aggressively told that they would be turning my water off. I said I called the front desk and ask for twenty minutes. She said angrily "I know your water will be turned off at 11:20 am". I was so insulted I just skipped my shower and left. I had been up since 8am working on paperwork that I needed to ship. So I suggest unless you want to feel like a homeless person who should be thankful for whatever crumbs they throw you instead of a paying customer, you should just stay in Pratt, KS. There are many hotel choices, it is not that far of a drive and no one has ever threatened to turn my water off if I did not hurry up and get out!

"Dreary but OK"

6.0

The motel is a little bit worn around the edges, but everything worked -- except I wasted some water while figuring out that the sink's hot and cold faucets were reversed. And you do not have many choices in Medicine Lodge.

"ok for the night"

6.0

There are not many choices for lodging in Medicine Lodge, KS and this property is right on the main drag. The accommodations were average for a budget motel. Rooms were clean but dated, bathroom faucet needed some attention, beds were comfortable and staff were pleasant. Plenty of parking for guests. It appeared that many of the oil/gas field workers used the Budget Inn for lodging, so always someone interesting to talk with. There is a restaurant/convenience store next door and a burger joint down the street. Also, the newer part of town has food & fuel, but it is not within walking distance of the Budget Inn.
