Budget Host Inn - Emporia

This place is so clean. I have stayed here once before, and was pleasantly surprised with how clean it was, considering it is a cheap roadside motel. I was happy to be able to arrange my travel route to stay here again, as it was very nice to know I had a clean and well kept place to stay. They are pet friendly with a $15 fee, and have lots of space out around the hotel to walk the dog. I did not have any issues with hearing neighbors, but also it wasn't all that busy. The motel is a bit older but overall well maintained and they clearly take a lot of effort to clean the rooms, I even felt comfortable walking around on the carpet barefoot. My room was spacious and had plenty of room for the dog kennel, and it also had a fridge and microwave.

The woman we dealt with at the counter was very friendly, cleanliness was fine, and price was excellent.

My reservation got messed up and there were not two rooms available even though I had an email confirmation for two rooms. Also, even though there was a microwave and a small fridge, there was no means of heating water other than the microwave.

Convenient good value

The website suggests that pet fees “may apply”. I asked them to tell me if pet fees would apply. The truth is pet fees apply. So tell the truth!

Nice motel - clean, easy check in, limited amenities but perfect for a road trip one night stay. No coffee machine - I didn't ask, didn't need one. Nice surrounding property for walking after a long drive. Love being able to have my vehicle right by my door!
