Warren Wood Country Park

Mr and Mrs Stork, the lake and wildlife was fab. Oak tree firing acorns! Property v clean. Overall hotel vibes. Dishwasher great. Kitchen pans very good. Spaciousness. Small site. No small children.

No bar stools for kitchen island. Not all tub jets fully functional. Teflon frying pan terrible, a ceramic one would be an improvement. Teflon surface was broken. Mattress on single bed next to window was quite lumpy and not luxurious feeling at all. Could do with a sign saying Warren Wood at the road turn off.

The peace comfort and the view

This was booked as an annual weekend away for my friend and I. We were fortunate to book a two bed lodge by the lake, with a private hot tub and decking. The parking for this particular lodge was just outside. It is spacious inside with an ensuite shower and separate bathroom. One double and one twin.

The interior in some areas is in need of maintenance and painting. One of the walls in the twin room was badly scraped. Paint had flaked from window sills and skirting boards. Walls and panelled walls showed wear and tear. The bedding wasn't the best quality nor the duvet or some of essentials. No ironing board is supplied. This is because quote " people don't tend to want to iron while they are away" Regardless if you'd planned to go out for the evening. An ironing board was eventually left on the decking, but with no iron. There was no one at reception. The lodge was left unlocked, with the key placed in the kitchen. We saw no staff during our stay. The decking is uneven in areas and sticks up. Had I waited and booked on the week we were going, it would have cost £80 more. The surroundings and hot tub are doing a lot of the heavy lifting to warrant the price.
