The Staging Post

Buffet breakfast was great. Evening meal was also very good. We stayed at both the stables (very unusual and rustic) as well as the standard rooms in the main building. Met Richard and Lane Kinnon (the Kinnon family own the staging post and the Outback Pioneers experiences and they were both lovely and accommodating.) All in all a very nice stay in convenient part of town.

We enjoyed it all. Would have loved to avail ourselves of the Cob and Co and Nogo station experience but simply ran out of time.

Amazing service

Great location, pioneer themed experience. Friendly, helpful staff. Themed queen bed room unit, complete with well equipped kitchenette and bathroom, clean and comfortable. The Staging Post accommodation is part of the Welcome Home Hotel which offers delicious home style buffet breakfasts and roast dinners./ stone grilled dining and is also the Booking Office for Outback Pioneer tours. Enjoyed all 3 nights 4 days in Longreach and Winton.

Location was great. The decor was charming, though had to learn how to not derail the barn door, hahaha. Staff was friendly and helpful. Short walk to everything.

Parking will always be an issue. Not the first time we have had to park on the road when we have stayed in Longreach. Not a reflection of the Hotel or staff.

Very small. Could not access the log steps easily. In fact it was dangerous not to have a handrail

I found the different height of the floors across 3 areas difficult to adjust to. I was told I was in cabin 24 and it was open and prepared for me. When I went to dinner I found I had the key to 26 so I couldn't lock room. Placed my valuables back inside my car. Did use contact number that nite but none came to rectify this. Could lock door from inside thank heavens.

Got to meet the owner and he was a neat character. The old cars that they parked out front gave it more appeal. Even though it had plenty appeal without them.
