Abalone Resort

Beautiful ocean views from our room. Beachfront property. The restaurant has ocean views too. It is a place to relax and eat the delicious food at the resort restaurant or hire a driver to take you to places if you want to do more than staying at the resort. We loved that it is quiet, is is right in front of the beach, it is great value for money.. the owner went out of his way to get us coconuts, coconut 🥥 the views from the room are spectacular and the owner cooks with real butter and olive oil and offers great quality mineral water. This are real perks for a health conscious person. And we loved loved the value for money. Dodi and Marion please keep it running. We value what you offer there 🙏 Their nice is also running reef restoration initiatives right in front of the property 🐠 Our driver took us on a day tour to the Virgin beach and everything else we needed 🙏

I would love to find pools that are chemical free but most properties in booking .com don’t have it and there is no way to filter to see which ones do have it. So Abalone is standard in this way . It has a chemically treated pool like most accomodations do unfortunately. So even though the pool was beautiful I can’t enjoy it because is it not good for health. This is not a particularly the properties bad, it is something that needs to change in most accomodations overall - move to healthier non chemical pool systems.

Was a bit tricky entering the property after heavy rainfall the previous day had changed the pathway into a moat😁 The property is Lovely , Hosts and staff all friendly and welcoming.. accepting us a day earlier than booked. The room and shared kitchen,lounge,and balcony areas were clean and spacious. Bathroom was clean and well appointed. All linens clean and fresh, with extra pillows and bolster cushions , outdoor furniture was comfortable and well looked after. The pool and surrounding grounds were relaxing and beautiful.

Quite location, no noise from the street, only the waves. Wonderful garden, well maintained, with relaxation beds. The resort is managed with German quality and Suisse precision!. Vielen Dank, Frau!

Balinese breakfast so delicious, that we became addicted

Amazing location. POOL, bar and restaurant 5m from the sea.

The property is on the beach and easy access to Blue Lagoon by boat. The hosts are fantastic and will go out of their way to assist. There is lots of space on the property and the rooms are clean and comfortable.

I would have liked a duvet on the bed.

The bed was very comfortable, very clean room and the balcony was beautiful.

The location! It was difficult to walk along the rocky path at night , after we returned from dinner. Lighting was poor and uneven ground.

Restaurant at place

Hard to get there and no main entrance. You have to go with luggage thru some garbage bag gardens - no access from the main road. Not so nice owner. Leaking roof in the bathroom, not nice bathtub painted meny times.

The local staff were kind.

When we arrived the owner barely acknowledged us while playing cards her words “Ketut will show you your room”, very dismissive. We thought this was fine until when my partner had a shower four centipedes crawled up his leg as it was dirty. This was disgusting and we proceeded to tell the staff that we were not happy and wanted to leave the next day. It was late at night so we couldn’t leave immediately. At 10pm approximately the owner and her partner burst into our room whilst we were in bed demanding they see the bugs as if we were making it up. We told them we wanted a refund for the next night and were more than happy to not be refunded for this night. They said no. I then wrote to them about how utterly invasive and inappropriate this was as I was indecent in bed and my partner had to get out of bed to talk to them and they came back!!! This was the worst experience we have had. Following the second talk to the owner about the centipedes with no remorse shown through offering a refund we received a further message. The entire message was in German and we had to translate it and it basically said that we could be refunded via booking.com. We are yet to receive this refund. The next day the woman who owned it did not even approach us to apologise and simply watched us walk out as we had our breakfast. Over all we felt sorry for the staff here and had a horrible experience.

The ladies at Abalone were friendly, helpful and ensured we had an enjoyable stay. Lovely, freshly cooked breakfast. Great pool overlooking beach. Very spacious resort, large gardens at front, with cows and small rice paddy at rear of property. Appears post COVID renovations required to some rooms/bungalows not currently used.

No vehicle access to resort. Access is via a narrow stony path, can be difficult with suitcases or those with poor mobility.
