NZNZDo not follow Google Maps. It took us to a place 37 km away, and we ended up driving on winding mountain roads for two hours round trip, only finding the correct location after it got dark.
NZWhat a gem! For the price you pay, it doesn't get better than this. We stayed 2 nights in early winter and were the only ones there. The self check in is much more simple than some previous reviews made it seem - we loved how easy it was. The room itself was spacious with an amazing view onto native bush just out off the deck. We were also lucky enough to get a small but nice view of the sea from the side window too, as we were in the end unit. Everything was clean and functional. The kitchen is pretty basic but needed for a Punakaiki stay as food options are limited, even more so in winter. The bed was comfy. The location was good, we were surrounded by beautiful bush and even though its near the main road, there wasn't much traffic noise. It rained the whole time we were there but this would be an amazing place to spend a sunny day with decks off each of the studios and a separate deck for all guests to use overlooking the sea.
No major complaints really. Our room was very cold and even with the two heaters running we couldn't really get the room to hold any heat once the sun went down. But the bed was super cosy with electric blankets and we soon found ourselves too warm! If you are planning to spend a lot of time in the room, on a rainy winter day then you might be more bothered by this but for us it was not a big deal.

I didnt realise it was self check in and was a little confused 😐 it was really dark and I finally found my key in the empty reception office. It was fine but maybe good to have a little more info regarding this

DEDas Hotel liegt unweit der Pancake Rocks und nahe zum Meer. - Schlüssel holt man sich an der Rezeption ab (kein Mensch da). Parkplatz direkt vor dem Zimmer. - Großes Zimmer mit ordentlichem Bad und separater Toilette. - Gute Betten. - Alles sauber und gepflegt. Kleine Küche mit Kocher für Tee. - Sehr ruhig gelegen. - Gutes PReis-Leistungsverhätnis.
Leider sehr unpersönlich, man sieht keinen Menschen bei der An- oder Abfahrt.
