Near to Yudanaka station and eateries. Convenience store is also walking distance ~3mins walk. Great onsen and friendly staff!

Suggest to enquire with the hotel directly on the directions before arrival as Google Map didn't work too well and we had to take a 'short cut' which involved going down a steep slope/hill.

"Tolle Erfahrung in einem klassischen Ryokan mit Onsen"

Ich habe ein authentisches Ryokan mit Onsen gesucht und war mehr als zufrieden. Das Personal war super freundlich und hilfsbereit und hat sehr gut englisch gesprochen - was nicht selbstverständlich ist. Die Unterkunft ist in einem tollen, traditionellen Stil eingrichtet ohne irgendwie altbacken oder abgewohnt zu wirken. Ein Highlight ist der Outdoor-Onsen, den jedes Zimmer für 30 Minuten exklusiv buchen kann - toll! Auch das Kaiseki kann ich empfehlen - ich hatte das Frühstück (war leider zu spät für das Abendessen) was ein echtes Erlebnis ist. Abends habe ich in den kleinen Sushi-Restaurants daneben gegessen - auch ein tolles Erlebnis!

"Excellent Ryokan with great food and onsen."

We had a great stay at the Tawaraya Ryokan. Excellent and friendly service. We loved the outdoor hot spring bath that could be reserved privately for each room. The breakfast and dinner in the hotel are excellent, best we had on our two week Japan trip.

Cet endroit est fabuleux, pour apprendre a y vivre à la japonaise. Les repas japonais sont délicieux. On a pris le temps de m'expliquer les plats. Il faut prendre le souper avec eux au moins une fois dans votre séjour. Cette entreprise familiale représente toute l'authenticité japonaise. Le personnel est d'une gentillesse exceptionnel. Discret, très a l'écoute de ses clients. La personne qui nous a accueilli parlait très bien anglais. J'ai réservé 3 nuits, je recommande ce petit Ryokan avec onsen intérieur et un extérieur qui est situé dans les Alpes japonaises à 50 minutes de Nagano. Bel endroit pour se déposer et reprendre son souffle à proximité d'activités de pleins airs et de nombreux onsens publics. Nous avons eu la chance de voir les "snow monkeys".
