Slumberland Motel Mount Holly

Peeling wallpaper, people knocking on doors looking for women, nasty owner. The room had a strange odor. Heater hard to control. Avoid if single women or family. Mt. Holly is nice but look elsewhere for accomadations. Has hourly rates.

Room was nice and clean. Very impressed with bathroom. It was very clean and had an updated look to it. The location was very nice also. It's set back a little bit away from the hustle and bustle of things. The secluded feel it had was very nice. I would recommend this motel and I personally would stay here again.

We've been staying at the Slumberland a couple of times a year. Sure, it's old, and was a little dumpy, but it was clean. Our stay this past weekend convinced me that things have changed...a lot. The bedspread had burn holes in it, stains, and looked terrible. We pulled it off the bed and onto the floor. Peeling back the covers, we discovered HAIR on the sheets and pillow cases. Not just a hair, but a lot of hair. Enough to convince me that the bedding hadn't been changed since the last guest - or possibly even the one before that. Thankfully, we brought our own pillows, so the furry ones went onto the floor next to the nasty bedspread. It was too late to get clean bedding, so we shook the sheets out and put them back on clean(er) side up. The mini blinds had broken slats, so anyone could peek into the room if they so desired. Same with the blinds on the bathroom. And the lock on the bathroom window was broken...the windows were held closed with a stick. We're done with the Slumberland.

What can I say? Comfortable, clean, cheap. The bathroom was dated. And I mean 1950's dated, but it was clean, no mildew. A very nice place to stay for a roadside motel. Will go there again. I was very satisfied.
