Secluded. Beautiful views. Quiet

Cozy little cottage on a family farm, a little bit out of the way but with breathtaking views of the New Zealand countryside all around you. There is even a little grotto not far from the cottage where you can see glowworms at night. There is practical kitchenette for prepare meals and they provide you with the stuff you need to make yourself a delicious breakfast. Staff was very accommodating and answered all our questions prior to arrival.

Ladder to reach beds in the loft is hard on the feet and probably more for kids than adults.

Amazing location and incredible views. The host Angus was so great. Best places we stayed our whole trip to New Zealand.

1. The host, Angus, warmly welcomed us when we arrived and again before we left, taking the time to introduce everything to us. He’s a wonderful host and gave us a fantastic first impression of New Zealand! 2. The chalet is in a very peaceful location surrounded by nature. We heard that you can see glowworms in the woods beside the chalet at night and watch the sunrise in the morning —but unfortunately, it was raining during our stay. 3. Even in winter, the chalet was cozy and warm with the heaters, and the decor felt very homey. 4. Simple kitchenware such as a kettle and microwave, as well as a light breakfast, were provided. Guests can also bring their own food and ask the host in advance to borrow the barbecue equipment. (We didn’t know that beforehand, but our kind neighbors shared their barbecue with us!)

1. The chalet is not located directly on the main road — you need to turn onto a small side road, so it’s better to arrive before sunset to find the signs more easily. 2. The bathroom is next to the chalet but not connected indoors, so in winter you’ll need to wear a jacket when going out to shower or use the toilet. You’ll also need to turn on the heater first to warm up the bathroom; otherwise, it can be quite cold. The water pressure and hot water supply were a bit limited.

The view is absolutely incredible! We stayed in the first cottage, which was both spacious and cosy. There’s also a fantastic spot on the property to see glowworms. The host was very kind and welcoming. It’s a pity we only stayed for one night.

The view is amazing, the kids loved the outdoor bath and the hospitatlity was wonderful. We have no complaints about our stay at all. We thoroughly enjoyed it and taking a walk on the farm provided some nice exercise as well. The little glow worm grotto was awesome to go to after a day spent at the caves learning about these little creatures. Being greeted by the cat was a highlight for the kids too.

What a cool glamping experience! A beautiful view, comfortable beds and even though it was winter, it was nice and toasty inside the tent. We made use of the BBQ and the fire during our 2 night stay.
