"Cheap"

6.0

You get what you pay for. It is dated, desperately needs updating. Beds are hard as a rock, bedding is old. Refrigerator in the room does not work. The room smells like must and mildew. They clean. Due to the old worn look of everything and broken tiles in the bathroom, stains on the carpet, along with the smell it does not feel clean though. If you just want a place to crash and are able to sleep anywhere it’s a gem. The property itself is nice, quiet. Could be super cute with some updates.

"Not so good."

6.0

I stayed in room #9 for one night. I'm very glad I brought a can of Fabreze because the room was VERY musty and mildwey. Glad I brought my own pillow, too. Other reviews are correct. This place needs a complete makeover and is actually very overpriced. The Tally-Ho restaurant in town is first-rate; the hash and eggs are to die for!!

"Great Location, love the fountain across the street"

8.0

Beautifully taken care of immaculate Motel, extremely clean rooms and exterior and staff very accommodating. My only 3 complaints were: the beds were extremely hard, In definite need off replacing mattresses or at the very least getting a thick topper. The pillows needed replacing. Small bar fridge in room is a great touch, but you got one tray of ice in the freezer that no one had filled up so we had no ice. There should be an actual ice maker on site. I definitely couldn't stay there again due to the beds because I was sore and stiff in the morning. From a motorcyclists standpoint the driveway up is paved but the top area is all pea gravel (or similar) so a bit tricky manoeuvring an 800+ lb bike on that. Location is great with restaurants for supper and breakfast being about a mile away.

"Motorcycle trip two nights"

Excellent value for money. Clean place, pleasant view. Outdated but who cares. Door handle to outside could be cleaned more often as well as previous persons butts outside door on ground. Would I come back, of course 😊

"Well, it's a cheap place to stay near Cooperstown"

6.0

My son and I went to Cooperstown for a weekend and stayed here. I guess the good things I can say about it are these: rates are inexpensive, location is OK (at the end of a town with a couple of restaurants about a 20 minute trip to Cooperstown), relatively clean. On the downside, the furniture, technology and plumbing are all very dated, the matresses were hard as a rock, and the hot water in the shower was very much a hit and miss affair. If you don't plan on spending a lot of time in your motel and just need a place to crash (not terribly comfortably), this is fine, but otherwise, you might want to spend a little more on a nicer place.

"Meh"

6.0

The Motel is very affordable but you get what you pay for. We stayed one night and I would recommend that's all you stay for. The room we had overlooks the fountain across the street at the Municipal Water facility. The room itself was extremely dated and needed a thorough overhaul. It came across as more of a cabin feel inside the room and had even a musty smell. Even though it was chilly out we opened the window to get fresh air. The bathroom had what appeared to be black mold around the tub and the ceilings had water spots in both rooms. The electric heat baseboards were very rusty. The bed was comfortable . I brought my own blankets and removed the spread. I will say thst the room was very clean.

"Antique trip"

8.0

Like other reviews, yes the décor is dated, but if your looking for a nice size room, clean, the hot water is hot, and it's quite, then Fountain View fits the bill. Short drive to Fly Creek Cider Mill and Cooperstown. Was there for 4 days for the Madison- Brockville Antique Show, about a half hours drive. Note to motorcycle riders, the driveways are paved, but the parking lot is pea gravel, so slow and easy does it. Owners are very accommodating and Sherman the cat may even greet you.

"Nice place to stay"

8.0

We stay here every year when we visit Glimmerglass opera. Other motels nearer Cooperstown have prices $200 or more a night. We just need a comfy clean place to stay. $85 for a double room; fridge, microwave. Works for us. We sit outside in the evening and in the morning and enjoy the view. Sometimes we need to air out the room a bit (like many of the places we stay) but this year, the rooms were all set. And as before, the owner had rooms ready early for us.

"Sorry, but it was a bad experience"

4.0

I expected that this motel would be dated and old fashioned. But reviews had stated that it was clean and pleasant. It was indeed clean, but unfortunately our room was VERY musty smelly. It was a cool night for July, so we figured we would turn on the heat to help with the musty smell. But the heater did not work and the office was not open to help. It was midnight, and it was a very unpleasant night to get through. My husband complained in the morning, but our complaints were not addressed. I was hoping they might give us a little discount. The room was pretty expensive for what and where it was!
