Bathroom and comfortable bed

Well located, the accomodation is very well equipped, large bathroom, it has got its own coffee maker, fridge, cutlery, etc. Very happy with my stay.

I tend to be always warm so access to air conditioning and a cool bedroom is a high preference as a need for staying away from home and a good sleep. Splendid Place listed air conditioning however it is not controlled in the unit but rather for the bungalow as a whole. The room is warm and there is no method to cool the temperature in the unit. As well, access to towels is limited to 2 towels for adults. Normally that would be ok, however due to the activity that I took part in while in Kingston, I took a shower before bed and again in the morning. The towels do not have enough time to dry even though it is 12hrs btwn showers and they are quite damp when reused by the 3rd shower. Had to air dry before going to bed. The advertisement listed sound proof walls but the ceiling is not soundproof and we can hear people walking above at all hours. The main door is an interior hallow door and not sound proof. The locking mechanism for the door is not screwed in (the screws are backing off on the handle). The bathroom door has a loud squeak so accessing the bathroom in the middle of the night wakes up the other guest sharing the unit. Freezer handle is broken to open the fridge freezer. The only access to drinkable water is the bathroom sink and you can’t fill a thermos or cooler directly. Bathroom door has a nail sticking out of the frame and it stops the door from fully closing.

The owners were very receptive and responded to all of our needs. Bed very comfortable, shower excellent. Any issues were resolved when required.

The view out the window could be improved somehow but it is a basement suite.

Clean, the owner was very pleasant.

Towel had been used to crush an insect. Glad I noticed it before using.
