Close to bus ⭐ 1/10 — Unsafe, Hostile, and Emotionally Distressing Stay at GuestHouse Zurzach: A Cautionary Review to Future Guests Based on Personal Experience I stayed at GuestHouse Zurzach in Oct. Although Booking.com acknowledged the severity of my experience and issued partial compensation, the property itself failed to take responsibility, offer an apology, or demonstrate any willingness to improve. Instead of using guest feedback constructively, the manager repeatedly dismissed my concerns and responded with misleading claims that invalidated my experience as a paying guest. This review is based entirely on my personal experience and supported by written correspondence. It is intended to inform future travelers about the service model and conduct I encountered. 🔹 Issues Privacy violations: Room entry without proper consent, physical contact without invitation, and public disclosure of my room number Hostile conduct: Dismissive responses to respectful inquiries, refusal to accommodate reasonable requests, and accusatory messages Repeated confrontations: Interactions initiated by the manager that I found intrusive and unsettling, including unsolicited physical contact and a deeply offensive remark, “I can’t wait until you leave”, made in front of witnesses who appear to support her poor actions. Lack of clear communication: Inconsistent info. about cleaning schedules, staff identification, and digital access No accountability: The property did not acknowledge any wrongdoing or offer an apology, and instead responded with statements that contradicted documented events 🔹 Timeline Late September 2025: I contacted the property to clarify check-in and cleaning procedures, requested a higher-floor room, and asked for notice before room entry. Initially I was informed cleaning dates can not be confirm, then they said Wednesdays, but no one arrived as scheduled. Only after confusion with staff, I directed to the app for details by manager over...

On Oct 9, a staff member knocked and entered my room immediately while I was still in bed. I said “hello,” but she didn’t wait for a verbal response. I followed up with a written request asking staff to wait for confirmation before entering. Later, I politely asked another staff member about supplies and reiterated my privacy concerns. The manager responded by instructing me not to speak to staff,a dismissive and disproportionate reaction to a respectful inquiry. October 10 While cooking in the shared kitchen, the manager tapped me on the back without consent and questioned what I was looking for, despite me standing in front of communal cookware. She then asked me to disclose my room number in front of a maintenance worker, which I found invasive and inappropriate. I requested a room change to a higher floor to restore comfort and privacy-denied by the property on Oct 13. October 29 While preparing breakfast, I placed a clean pan,used only to toast bread,in the dishwasher. I had consistently observed other guests leaving visibly soiled dishes without issue and always cleaned mine when needed. Moments later, the manager entered with two others, monitored me, removed the pan, and insisted it be hand-washed. I calmly asked not to be disturbed, but the confrontation continued. I have never seen her monitor any other guest this way. As I left she said: “I can’t wait until you leave.” This comment was deeply offensive, unprofessional, and made in front of witnesses. When I returned shortly after, the three individuals were still in the kitchen, speaking only among themselves and not using the facilities appearing only to provoke. Eviction threat followed repeated staff interference; camera footage would confirm unless altered. I formally asked the manager to cease all direct contact, citing ongoing harassment. False claims are dangerous! Booking.com issued partial compensation, but the property made misleading claims and invalidated my experience as a paying guest.
