Commander by the Sea Motel

Very clean property. Was perfect for our little get away.

One and only complaint was that the cleaning staff must of spilled bleach cleaner on the carpet in which when my son stepped on the wet spot it had ruined his socks which were black in color. They could have at least tried to get most of the wetness out of the carpet. Of course it didn’t change our minds that it is still a wonderful place to stay!

Close to the beach and the office staff was nice.

The beds are so hard, it's like sleeping on the ground. The blankets are thin and the pillows are flat. Overall it wasn't comfortable at all. They use a very strong cleaner to clean the room and it was almost unbearable. Our room was really outdated.

We stayed here for one night. The proximity to the beach was great, and the staff seemed helpful. The place was very clean, but had a musty smell and was pretty dated. The beds were uncomfortable (not just "on the firmer side"). After we checked out, I received a rude message from the host asking if we had "left red juice stains all over the comforter and not reported it." They stated that the maids had to throw the comforter out now. We certainly didn't leave a stained comforter--we were hardly in the room, and we ate breakfast outside on the porch because the room was so musty. No one ate or drank in the bedroom. I told the host that they must have the wrong room, because it wasn't us. I didn't hear back from them, so assuming they realized their mistake--but I would not recommend staying here for that reason alone. I don't need to be accused of something I didn't do on my last day of vacation.

The location is perfect! If you go there for the beach, it's right there! The entire property is kept exceptionally well and super clean, even if some of the furniture is outdated! I felt like there were plenty of pool chairs and picnic tables. The mattress was firm.

The only reason I gave it a 9 - not a 10 - I wish it was more clear that not all the rooms have a kitchen, that when you are making the reservation through booking, you get a room without the kitchen. The pictures are deceiving, and when you book in a rush , it is easy to miss.

The hotel was super convenient to walk to the beach from, just steps away. The manager/owner was on site, property was extremely clean and well maintained

Bath towels were very rough and scratched your skin. Our room was advertised on booking.com as having a queen size bed. It felt like a double bed at best. No hair dryer Room was extremely hot upon arrival as the air conditioner was off, it took a full 24 hours for the one air conditioner to cool off both rooms.

Having the beach right there. Calm and peaceful .. Having a kitchen with full size fridge.

My toilet clogged and the staff handed me a plunger and said good luck! I won’t be coming back! Pillows were flat not enough blankets or toilet paper in the room and the AC kept shutting off. Beds were extremely uncomfortable. Not enough parking.
