Alexandra Hotel

Location would be maybe an 8/10 depending on what you are looking for and disregarding the fact that you will have your old window facing a street that can be loud. The receptionist lady a is a 10/10, but that’s it. Oh and it has a balcony which is nice if you want to smoke.

where do I even start? please don’t book this hotel if you can spend a bit more money., at least until they fully renovate the whole house. -Your bed will be the hardest bed you have ever slept in, I promise it’s not an exaggeration, never seen anything like that. -your shower will be so tiny and poorly built that you will be touching the NASTY shower curtains, even if your are a skinny person, also the shower head doesn’t have a mounting on the wall so you have to hold it all the time with one hand while you shower. Furthermore there is tones of mold in and around the shower, it looks like a toddler tried to get rid of the mold by just pressing some silicon unevenly on top of it. -they ask you not to throw the toilet paper in the toilet(!). Seems they have old pipes that get clogged by the paper so they put this little bin next to your toilet where you are supposed to put the used toilet paper(can’t understand how they can consider it normal). -your room will likely be in fron of the reception and the kitchen and the door are just old simple doors so if you want to simply sleep long in your holidays the noise will make sure you don’t. Everything is old so you will hear a lot of the noise outside and next to your room if they are on the phone and such. -The internet is TERRIBLE, if you want to work or to game you can forget it, the mobile internet in that area is also super bad so you just won’t be able. -I booked this room because reviews said the breakfast is nice and rooms are clean and it was somewhat cheap but I was extremely disappointed by the breakfast; a couple of toast bread slices, a couple of slices of a super normal cheese and if you want some slices of ham. A handful of grapes with seeds, tee and coffee if you want, some greek yogurt and the generic triangles of spread cheese and some jam and butter and a boiled egg if you ask for it. So it’s not a Buffet where you can take all you want, you sit down and the lady will bring you a serving.

The host is highly kind, stay here recommended! :)

Everything was absolutely great. Very nice staff, great location, cleanliness. The beach was a 5-minute walk, a supermarket a 2-minute walk, the bus stop a 5-minute walk. I definitely recommend this hotel to everyone.

The only small minus would be the thin walls and therefore hearing noise from other rooms or from the street. But nothing terrible and I had no problem falling asleep at all.

Good room in a small apartment block. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Just a short bus ride to the main town of Chania.

Breakfast was basic with limited vegan options. WiFi signal was not working.

Wifi was very slow and kept disconnecting - couldnt even use the wifi for whatsapp calls Room needs a thick curtain to block out the morning sunlight even with the shutters closed. Shower needs a holder mounted on the wall so you can actually stand under the shower without having to hold the shower handle constantly. Shower needs a glass door to stop the water flooding the bathroom Room needs soundproofing as the passage and reception areas echo very loudly in the mornings waking you up No waste recycling

Nothing!

The bathroom is dirty and smells like urine. Impossible to sleep,because of traffic from the street, endless slamming of doors (lack of soundproofing), etc... I don't recommend it to anyone

The host is just a lovely person, the location is so handy, bus stop at the corner, shops, restaurants, beach just 2 minute walk.

WiFi kept dropping a lot so it was a bit hard to rely on. Other than that, no negatives :)
