Tegal Bamboo Cottages & Private Hot Spring

Very interesting hut made of bamboo. Private hot tube with warm water. You can especially enjoy it in the evening/night when the flies are gone. Breakfast was OK. The staff managed to put enough incense and candles to scare the flies so they were not sitting on the plates. The location is in the middle of the field, theoretically you could see the sunrise there but it was clouded when we were there. Possibly at the higher elevation the views would be better. Reasonably quiet at night but if you are light sleeper the cars driving tourists to the sunrise spots at 4-5 in the morning can wake you up. Later roosters start crowing - you are in the village anyway. I think it is a good place to stay for a night or two. If you find some interesting activities in the area, maybe for longer. We didn't find the village very attractive.

As in every review. We didn't like the flies. They were not biting but seating on you, tables, food. At 17:00 or so they were gone so the evening was pleasant. We were told that in other times in the year when there are less farming activities there are also less flies. As there are flies, there are also spiders. Large ones and in massive amounts. Luckily not around the huts! Not much to do during the day unless you go somewhere. Not the hotel's fault, just a fact.

Beautiful place and the hot spring tub was very lovely. The location is beautiful.

There were too many flies! Amd we are hippies and can handle bugs, but this was next level. Flies everywhere outside because of the agriculture next door. They need to help mitigate this issue. And bring earplugs! It's very loud at night with dogs and the jeeps going up to Mt batur.

Good value for money. They have a private pool for each cottage with warm water, we took a bath in there in the night and after the mount batur. Excellent place to start the mount batur sunrise tour, since it took only 20min to the base camp. The business owner was very helpful. Breakfast was included and we enjoyed it.

Natural hot spring water is amazing

It's a cute little bamboo cottage with outdoor bathroom. It also has private hot spring pool at the front. The owner and staff are all really nice. View is amazing, you can see the mountain right from your room. Definitely worth the price.

Property is located in a small alley so could be an issue if you have big car.

Loved the hot spring private plunge pool.

Seems common in Bali that staff like to sweep, water and clean around rooms at 6.00.
