Tegal Bamboo Cottages & Private Hot Spring

Nice lodge, fitting our expectation, hot spring bath was really appreciated

Breakfast is OK, but waiting time was long

Nice bamboo cottages. Welcoming staff.

Bed sheet was blood stained. Room wasn’t serviced over 2 night stay. Two tissues in box on arrival, half roll of toilet tissue provided, no extra provided. Bottled water & tea/coffee sachets were not replenished. Very cool nights, extra blanket would have been great.

Friendly and helpful staff. View is great. The outdoor bathtub with hot spring water was nice.

The rooms are not exactly sound proof due to it made from bamboo therefore you can hear a lot of sounds of your neighbour speaking or animals nearby which may or may not interrupt your sleep. No hot water shower.

Staff were super friendly and helpful. Great view of Gunung Abang and the lake.

Hot spa pool wasn't very hot. Places closer to the volcano where we've stayed in the past were much hotter. Room was a bit small.

The location was good. Nice view over the lake and pretty quiet apart Roosters singing all night. The hotpools are a bonus as even in the summer the evenings get chilly. Could be a little more enclosed though to make it more private.

Firstly the fact that the rooms are not draught proof and have huge gaps in the Bamboo and therefore are very open to the outside elements, especially on a cold night as we experienced it in July. No form of heating or even hot water showers. Next the front doors....... although they come with a meager patlock, they can fly in or out enough for a person to climb through while they are "locked". If you like walking on big rocks, then the Bathroom floor is for you. We also strongly believe that the sheets are not getting changed after exiting guests but instead get smothered in room freshener. Most disappointing was the fact that we weren't even informed about that there is a dinner menu, as there are not a lot of food options around. Nothing was said and no Menu at all displayed anywhere either. Also had to enquire via WhatsApp what the breakfast options would be. Lastly.....if you are not a fan of flies, this general area around the lake is not your friend. All in all.....for the money you pay, there are probably better options elsewhere.

Hot spring pool is selling point

Hot water didnt on. Staff only turned it on upon request. Toilet is without rooftop so when we came and rain, we couldnt take shower. No hot water for shower. Only hot spring.

This is a small family-run property. The folks were really friendly and helpful in organizing a hike up Mount Batur. The hot-spring-tubs were clean and relaxing. There's also a great little restaurant down the street.

Everything was great.
