A bit noisy at times. Needed a bit more attention to detail when cleaning (dusting)

The bed was comfortable.

I feel the price is way too steep for this standard. This is a basic, a little run-down, although clean backpackers hostel. The location alone cannot justify the price.

Difficult to locate. Extremely expensive for what you get. Staff were incredibly rude, left my 70 year old dad outside in the rain while we negotiated to get our pre booked room key.. Beds are uncomfortable. The jug for coffee is in the bathroom, and you cannot fill it up from the tap because it doesn't fit so you have to use the shower. Theres no fridge so the milk on the bench was warm. The wifi offer is terrible, limited access at slow speed. Additional hidden fees for everything! Excessive noise, extra towels, cooking or laundry facilities all entail a fee. Paying by credit card also incurs a $10 fee. Have stayed at many motels on our travel tour south, and this is by far the worst. Only stay if its an absolute last resort. If your in the area, go back to Haast, Makaroa or even sleep in your car. It'll be better and not charge over $300! Extremely disappointed.
