Typing emails with a view of snow peaks and birds chirping in the background, it's been a magical stay here. Had planned just a 1 night stay but extended for a week. I came here alone, but now I've found a place to belong, a home, a family. You know those rare people who genuinely want you to have a great time? That’s the team running this place. Rooms are clean, beds are comfy, and the overall atmosphere is very welcoming. The vibe here is cozy, peaceful and perfect for travelers looking to unwind. Thankfully the place is located in the best spot of Chitkul away from the overly crowded market area. Arpit took us on many hidden trails that made my stay full of adventure and pahadi love. Purva made sure I had delicious meals, special shout out to the yummy egg curry. Will miss Grumpy and Pepper a lot 🐶🥹 Thank you team for wrapping me in love and warmth. I will certainly be back.

I had an unforgettable experience at Lap Stays Chitkul. The location is absolutely stunning — right amidst the mountains with breathtaking views all around. The staff were super friendly and made me feel at home. The rooms were clean, cozy, and warm, which is all you need in such a cold place. Bonfire nights, mountain views, and the peaceful vibe made it a perfect escape. Highly recommended for solo travellers and nature lovers!

There's no better place to stay while experiencing the magic of Chitkul than LAP Stays. I arrived with a booking for a single day, and by evening, I had already extended it to five. In the end, I stayed for seven nights. Living in Chitkul feels like being in the lap of Mother Nature, surrounded by beautiful mountains that call you to explore. Every morning, as I drew the curtains, I was greeted with a stunning view of the valley and the village - sometimes veiled in mist and rain, and sometimes glowing in the bright morning sun. The lovely couple who run LAP Stays made me feel at home instantly. I went on many walks with them, learned about the land and the climate, and simply enjoyed their company. They make great food, are very accommodating, and always greet you with a warm smile. The volunteer, Ashi, is super friendly and fun. We shared many laughs and meaningful conversations that I'm truly grateful for. Of course, I have to mention the dogs, Pepper and Grumpy, who are THE best companions one could ask for on mountain trails, and on rainy days when you're cold and restless. I’ll definitely visit Chitkul again, and without a second thought, I’ll stay here. To every wanderer who finds themselves in Chitkul, I wholeheartedly recommend LAP Stays as your home during the stay.

There was nothing to dislike

Everything was great about the property. It was a cozy home stay and very clean. Special shout out to Purva. She has been very helpful and has guided whenever I reached for any information as I was travelling from Hyderabad.

I wouldn't say I didn't like but felt food can be improved. As it is a remote village options are limited and we should be open for adjustments. But feel food can be one area to improve

Very friendly and nice views from the bedroom window. Fairly basic facilities but it’s a small village and everything nearby. Staff super helpful and happy to make meals

Bed linen wasn’t clean - I don’t think it had been changed all season
