Palazzo Virgintino - Sassi Rooms

Excellent location. We literally walked out onto the setting from a scene in James Bond. Host was very helpful and very friendly. That was a nice selection of annemeties in the room (teas, biscuits drinks etc) - it was very spacious. Air conditioning worked very well. Overall we'd highly recommend it and it was great value for money.

Minor feedback. Personally, we weren't fans of the type of sheets on the bed. There were flies in the room when we first got there, but easily sorted with a rolled up newspaper and wasn't an issue for the rest of the stay.

Everything was perfect! Nicola and his wife were amazing at helping me prepare a surprise for my husband for our anniversary. The location pf the property is perfect. Right at the entrance of the old city, but near enough the city so we could park our car. The room is a spectacle a part. Amazing view, amazing atmosphere and really comfortable. Totally recommend and will be back!

Nicola and Marilena are great hosts that do everything possible to make one's stay comfortable and enjoyable. We stayed in a nice room with a balcony that had a splendid view over a beautiful square, which also happens to be the square where the last James Bond film was shot. If you come to Matera we highly recommend that you stay at their place.

- [ ] While location is good for sightseeing, not great when people are hanging out in front of your door from the cafe next door - [ ] Glass doors muffle most of the noise but we like to keep the back doors cracked- can be noisy - [ ] No screens on the doors - flies came in - [ ] Only one tiny waste bin in the bathroom; had to improvise - [ ] Due to the smallish size of the rooms, no real good storage options.

The place is magical, the views are breathtaking. The place is super clean, beautiful, there are many details that make you feel very special. The host is extremely kind and a great gentleman. The bed is very comfortable and everything is very beautiful. The location was also great. You don't want to leave this place. I don't think the pictures of the place can do justice to how beautiful the place actually is, we recommend it!

OMG!! I cannot say enough good things about this our hosts and our stay. What an amazing and absolutely unforgettable stay. The hosts went over and above any of our expectations. They are first class. The room was absolutely beautiful. Balcony to the front overlooking the square and a balcony to the rear overlooking the beautiful city. The views are breathtaking. Nicola and Marilena are so pleasant, and they are phenomenal hosts. They went above and beyond our expectations. A+++++ rating! 10 out 10!! Thank you so much for everything!!
