York House Durham

Fantastic place to stay, beautiful house, family room was huge, everything you could ask for, comfy beds, pleasant temperature, immaculately clean, well decorated, plenty of refreshments, large bathroom with thick towels, hot shower and toiletries. Quiet location with lovely views. Hosts very friendly. Breakfast 5*, quality ingredients and cooked perfectly. What more can I say, the perfect stay

It was situated in a quiet area, easy to find, and accessible to city centre and university. The room was spacious and beds comfortable to sleep in. Thank you Bill for accommodating our family and for the lovely breakfast this morning.

Both of the hosts were fabulously friendly. They took an interest in me as a guest pitched at the right level. Breakfast was perfect. Greeted by name (which was an unexpected nice touch) and was served very promptly. I loved everything about the place. Can’t recommend enough. It’s a top guest house.

York house was in a quiet but nice location. The room was very spacious and comfortable. the little fridge was a nice touch with bottled water. the hosts were very caring and attentive. breakfast was very tasty and there was plenty of choice.

I can't fault The York House as my husband and I had a lovely stay.

The hotel is in a very quiet area and we felt very safe. The host contacted us during the day we were due to arrive and liaised about our arrival time. He was very jolly and knowledgeable about the area. Our room was enormous, with 2 double beds and a single. The bed was really comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and had a beautiful shower and roll-top bath. Everything was spotlessly clean and the decor was fresh. Breakfast was really good, with yoghurts, fresh fruit and fruit juice. We ordered our cooked breakfast the night before and it was ready for us as soon as we wanted it in the morning. The hotel is 10-15 minutes from Durham city centre.

Slightly off the beaten track but that’s what makes it so special.
