The Nelsbells Cottage

The place is very beautiful, big enough to accommodate group of friends. We loved everything about the place, will be coming back again soon.

It was so amazing to be able to take my pets with me and have them in a big, safe garden. It was very cold, but the electric blankets and the fireplaces were fabulous. Highly recommended for family stays

Its a beautiful quaint home, enough space for everyone and for a family with kids its open plan enough that between men by the fire outside cooking the , ladies by the inside fire chatting and the kids playing throughout the down stairs area we could all see each other and communicate.

It didn't bother us but naturally wooden floors mean you can hear when people move around so alone trying to sleep in might be a little annoyed. During our stay the water pressure when showering isn't enough to have a decent shower, but bathing was a perfectly good option.

Our hosts were helpful upon arrival. The location is great- walking distance to restaurants and the main square in Clarens, but quiet. Our kids especially loved the large garden.

Many complaints we'd read about in previous reviews before booking seem to have not been attended to- many burned out or broken light fixtures, things falling apart. The house felt a bit run down and, in a few places, unsafe (for example: loose second floor floorboards).
