We had a wonderful stay in the guesthouse of Sona and her family. Sona treated us like a mother when we were far from home. She is the best cook and our room was good and clean. When we think about Varanasi we will always think about Sona too. Thank you so much ✨

Azure Paying Guest House is a lovely and cozy place to stay in Varanasi, just a short walk from Assi Ghat. It’s perfect for anyone looking for a simple, homely atmosphere. The host, Sona, is amazing—very caring, speaks really good English, and makes delicious home-cooked meals. Staying here feels less like being at a guest house and more like being welcomed into someone’s home. The rooms are clean, and the shower has hot water. Just keep in mind, that if you have large luggage, the room size might feel a little tight. It’s an experience that leaves you with lasting memories of Varanasi’s hospitality and charm. Highly recommended!

Sona and her lovely family 🙂 Location was perfect. Just a short walk (5 mins) to the Assi Ghat and local restaurants and street food. Sona works hard to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We had breakfast each day we stayed (4 days) and of course, masala chai! You’re also given information and a map of the city and points of interest marked out by Sona. The rooms are basic but that’s what we prefer and are exactly as presented in pictures. It really does feel like you’re living within the family home. So it’s important to be mindful of this when staying here. We are guests in someone’s home and their rest time in the late evening should be respected as should their property.

We had an overall great stay and would definitely recommend this place! Sona was super welcoming and helpful with anything we needed - including laundry, a Varanasi walking tour (her brother is the guide and we thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour), and a day trip to Maha Kumbh Mela. Conveniently you can also have breakfast at the homestay. The homestay was also really clean and the location was ideal since you’re in walking distance to the Assi Ghat as well as several nice eating locations (Cafe Terracotta, Cafe Sparrow & more).

Sona, very good host. She take care of everything we did breakfast every day. Hot shower. Possibility to make laundry.

My room didn’t have a window so it was a little bit smelly but totally clean. My friends room had a window so it was relatively ok
