The employees were welcoming, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed all of our meals at the restaurant. A special mention for the restaurant staff. The daily yoga classes on the last floor were a big plus. Last, but not least, the beautiful Ganga (Ganges River) is conveniently just minutes away.

The rooms were more like private rooms in a hostel. If that’s what you are looking for, you will most likely be pleased with the accommodations and the low rates. The property needs to be more thorough when cleaning the rooms, however, especially the bathrooms. Our main disappointment was the mess and the noise from three construction sites on the side where our rooms were located. That’s not the hotel’s fault to be sure, but something to keep in mind when considering this property.

"Great location, comfy room, kind people & the most lovely Piku"

9.0

We are so glad to choose Punyah Residency for our first 2 day-stay in Rishikesh, then we prolonged our stay and at the end we stayed there for 3 weeks. The hotel’s location is perfect, Tapovan is filled with awesome cafes and restaurants where you can eat, meet, work and recharge, and all of them are only a walking distance from the hotel. Laxman Jhula is closed now but it is easy to reach the other side by ferry. The restaurant on top floor still has a little Ganga view, but many buildings are in progress around. (And yes, it makes some noises, but bearable) The food in the resto is just great, they offer wholesome, vegetarian food. The chai was my warming companion when I needed to work from here, and their Vitality boost drink was a lifesaver after a challenging windy day outside. The room is convenient, the hot shower is priceless after a long, cold day. The bed is very comfy, big and clean, and there are electric sockets (compatible w EU plugs!) next to it. The balcony is small but very good to have, giving the feeling of a wider perspective, even if the Ganges is not visible, you can feel its powerful presence. The yoga shala is perfect and has good energies. The group sessions are wonderful but I prefer to do my own practice alone, and they let me to enter the shala between the daily yoga classes, which is highly appreciated. The staff is wonderful, it feels like a big loving family. Everyone was so helpful even til the last day when it came to our late checkout request, we got a different room to recharge before the looong travel. The hotel’s vegetarian! dogs are the crown of this place, Piku is a majestic creature, he made our stay more lovely and joyful.

Regarding the general cleanliness, from our European view of standards it is not the best, but comparing Asian standards it is a 8/10 in total.

The staff was very attentive and it is in a great location.

There were hairs in my bed, however they offered to change the sheets straight away.

Keep in mind that, as of January 2025, Laxman Jhula is currently closed and you will have to either walk (forty-five minutes to an hour) or take transport to Ram Jhula in order to reach the other side of the Ganges. This is not the hotel's fault but you should be aware of it if you plan on spending most of your time outside of Tapovan.

"Nice hotel, good staff however disappointing as paid extra for mountain view which doesn't exist."

5.0

This is a convenient hotel with very pleasant staff. The rooms were comfortable and a good size. The yoga room upstairs is lovely and the teacher was excellent. It is a good location, able to walk to the shops and restaurants very easily from here,

We paid for a premium room with a mountain view. Don't bother - there is no mountain view. There is a large building site outside and a big building obstructing the view of the river and the mountains. It is not what they show in their pictures. When I asked about this they said the pictures were taken before the buildings were there ( which really must have been a long time ago). The hotel is nice but they need to be honest, take the pictures down and stop charging extra for the view! You are in fact better off staying the road side of the hotel (at a cheaper cost) as this would be quieter and away from the building site.

"Pleasant"

The staff were exceptionally helpful. The location is excellent and there were nice views from the hotel. My friends stayed at nearby hotels which cost more but this hotel seemed better than those.

The biggest problem is that the sound insulation is incredibly poor, it seems like you can hear everything going on in the building. You will hear the TVs, conversations and more from anyone on the same floor. Aside from this, the bed was not as clean as I usually expect from a hotel, but not enough to make me uncomfortable. The water takes a while to heat up and the shower is in an awkward position that has caused significant water damage to the washroom door.

Very well located. Staff very nice. I loved the room service, super convenient. There is a yoga shala on the last floor of the property which is really nice too. King size bed and hot water, great stay!

"Helpful staff, clean rooms, yoga options, delicious food"

10.0

I had a fantastic experience at Punyah Residency. The staff were so friendly and helpful! Three yoga classes and a meditation class offered every day. The on-site restaurant had a wide variety of menu options and offered room service. I can’t say enough nice things about the staff and yoga instructors - they were welcoming, attentive, and kind. Highly recommend staying here!

The view from my room was more of a construction site than a mountain view, but I still enjoyed sitting on the balcony!
