Maybe my situation was a one-off, but had a bad experience with this hostel. Was alone for 2 days. Read online that everything would be easy, instead had to arrange afternoon safari myself, and next day full safari group cancelled, so had to pay extra and go alone (would've expected host to have enough of a network to solve this). Hostel is nothing special either, beds are too small and shower is cold.

I only have the highest of compliments and recommendations to give this hostel and the owner Padeep. From the first steps inside he greeted us and made sure we were comfortable. He helped us cook a Sri Lankan dinner together and took us on the most incredible safari the next day. it was obvious he has worked in the industry for a while as he had so much knowledge to give and would go out of his way, with his safari driver as well, to ensure we could find all kind of wildlife. If you’re looking for an amazing, humble experience- this is the hostel to come to!!
