Ella Golden Rock Ella

Great location, just a short walk to Nine Arches Bridge and Little Adam's Peak. We also walked into town, about 20 mins or so. A number of restaurants close by. Nice big room with a small balcony and a beautiful view. It was priced right for it's condition. Owner was helpful and we we able to get laundry done.

The room is due for a deep clean as indicated by baseboards, fixtures and walls.

The staff are exceptional. The food and service great. Ideal location for climbing Adam’s Peak. Highly recommend.

What I liked: The location is excellent, making it very convenient to visit some of the main attractions in Ella. It's a great spot for travellers looking to explore the area. Another highlight of my stay was the breakfast. I had the English breakfast, and it was prepared wonderfully by the chef—definitely high value for money. Overall, while I appreciate the location and the quality of breakfast, I hope these maintenance issues are addressed to enhance the guest experience.

I recently stayed at Ella Golden Rock Ella for the third time, and while there are aspects I truly appreciate, there are also a few areas that need improvement. What could be improved: Unfortunately, I was assigned the same room for the third time, and some persistent maintenance issues remain unresolved. The shower holder in the bathroom is broken, and despite my previous stays, it has not been fixed. Additionally, the toilet flush tends to get blocked, and the bathroom floor gets quite wet after a shower. Another issue is with the bed linens during the rainy and cold season. The sheets tend to become damp, which creates an unpleasant smell. This affects the overall comfort of the stay and could be improved with better ventilation or dehumidifiers.

The staff was extremely helpful and sweet enough to make us a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast on 1 January.The view from the room is beautiful

The property is located on a steep height which is not fully accessible by car. The rooms were filled with moths in evening even when the balcony doors were closed. The cleanliness is really compromised in the property

Location and staff were amazing!

Wifi and service weren’t great, made booking things difficult.

The overall stay was pleasent, we stayed for two nights, the rooms were clean and speciuous. The lobby of the hotel is a great place to hangout, they had board games and books. The view from the rooms were stunning. The staff was really friendly and attentive.

Rooms were not soundproofed, so we can here everything outside our room and vise versa, also there is a ventilator type of thing in the bathroom wall and on the other side is the hallway where guests and staff are walking, which was a bit uncomfortable.

It was lovely 😊. Benjamin went out of his way to provide a good breakfast. Excellent chef and he also cooked us a delicious Sri Lankan curry. A very kind man who couldn’t do enough for us. Made our stay a happy one😘

Nothing really 😊

Great location for the start of little Adams peak and nine arch bridge. Also not far into town! The view was amazing. Breakfast was so good every day, and the staff were so friendly and helpful - thank you Hemantha and Sachiea :)
