Stunning location on top of the hill overlooking the tea fields below and the valleys below those. We were kindly upgraded to a roof top suite with room-wide windows leading out onto a roof terrace. The views literally make this place. Service was good and the room was clean and comfortable. The only downside was the prayer calls from a nearby mosque being noisy late evening and VERY early morning, but the accommodation owners can’t help this. Also the town is a bit run down and chaotic, but again not the property’s fault. We were given a gift as we checked out and heard how the owner was busy cooking for local elderly people and monks as a gesture to mark the anniversary of his father’s death. Extremely kind, helpful and selfless people. Thanks for the stay!

Noise from prayer calls a few cockroaches found their way into the room.

Das Schauspiel des Wetters auf der Bühne der Landschaft… Die Aussicht ist unbeschreiblich. Das Zimmer sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet (das oberste Zimmer ist eines der schönsten, die wir je hatten). Ein fantastisch bunter und gepflegter Garten gehört auch dazu!

The view and the staffs hospitality

Such an incredible location. Haputale is an incredible chilled area, lots of nature, fresh air and wildlife. We wish we had booked to stay here longer. The family owners of this hotel are so lovely, as are their staff, nothing was too much trouble. The family I’m go out of their way to support those less well of in the community and provide employment for some. The onsite cooking class is a must, 50% of the cost goes towards helping local school children. The food we prepared was some of the best we had during our three week stay in Sri Lanka. The hotel was very clean and had everything you could need for your stay. The communal garden area was lovely and well cared for. Would definitely recommend.

Slightly noisy/ echoey if in the room near the restaurant but it quietens down very early.

Unser Zimmer hat eine fantastische Aussicht. Der Besitzer des Hotels war sehr hilfsbereit. Er achtet auf Nachhaltigkeit. Für das leckere Abendessen und Frühstück gab es Gemüse aus seinem eigenen Garten. Wir fanden es auch sehr gut, dass die Familie darauf achtet, Personal einzustellen, das sozial benachteiligt ist.
