Room Calafatari

The location is convenient and secluded in a quiet area, a very interesting part of the city near the farmer's market and close to a free parking area. The apartment is in a locked courtyard at the end of an alley so it feels quite safe there. The owner was very responsive to our complaints and did his best to help make our stay better.

The pillows on the bed are too thick and stiff, so my wife used a towel instead of the pillow. She couldn't sleep well. The window has no screen so mosquitoes came in. There is no privacy because the bathroom window gives onto the courtyard where a neighbor lives. My wife heard a person come out into the courtyard smoking a cigarette at 2am and smoke came in the room. Although this man who lives next door was very friendly when we met him in daytime. The shower curtain is ineffective so the bathroom floor was always wet.

Fabulous location around the corner from the Mercato. Comfy bed, good shower and good wifi. There was even a desk! Excellent instructions for check in and lots of tourist info. Surprisingly quiet for such a central location. Good value for money.

Very nice room in the heart of Ortigia. Host was super nice and sent recommendations for free parking slots and explained about the ZTL zone, which was great. He also sent a short video on how to get to the room, otherwise it is a bit confusing with all the small streets, but once you have seen the video it is very easy. The room had everything you need for a short stay. :) Definitely recommend!

pretty good location because it is close to main parking. easy to walk into Ortiga and Syracuse. Affordable. Ortiga was great.

the room has one small window. it had some frosted glass on the door, but the only view is out to a wall. the sky isn't visible.

Great location for exploring Ortigia.
