Pot A Doodle Do

An absolute classic of the genre. Starting with positives, the location is excellent being only a 10 minute taxi ride from the town centre but away from any residential areas. No light pollution and perfect silence - great stargazing spot in the summer. Excellent price. Now for the service... The bedding is not included and needs to be preordered. The check in message says "most of our guests bring their own bedding" - I personally have never met anyone who brings bedding with them on holiday but if you, dear reader, are one of those people then I guess this is the perfect place for you! The electricity is on a meter which needs to be topped up with £1 coins - I don't know how long it lasts because we didn't end up staying the night of course, having nothing but a gym mattress to sleep on. The website says there is a restaurant on site but all staff are gone by 6pm so if you want any dinner you'll need to eat on the town or bring your own. Of course all of this is disclosed in the fine print, so technically I only have myself to blame, but with my sky high expectations I typically only read the check in message to find out how to access the property, not to be told at the last minute that the bare minimum is actually an extra service that needs to be arranged for in advance. All told, this would not have been an altogether unpleasant experience if we were aware of everything before we arrived.

We have used this place several times now and will be coming back again fairly soon. It's great value, clean and safe. kitchen block facilities excellent, same with bathroom facilities. Really like it here.

We stayed here for three nights. The cabin had everything we needed and was a lovely, cozy space with heating, a kettle, fridge, and bed. The kitchen and shower block was a quick walk away and had lots of practical facilities to make the stay easy, including shower, microwave, sink, clothes washer and drier, and tables to sit and eat at. Christine who runs the site is welcoming, thoughtful and kind, it was easy to reach out to her with any questions. The location was peaceful. We loved getting up and going for a walk along the coast. Berwick-upon-Tweed and Lindisfarne are both a short car-ride away. Thank you Christine for a lovely stay!

Stayed here twice now, cabin clean with times, the pods are nicely spaced apart, picnic benches and little decking. Shower block very close to the pods. Shower blocks and toilets very clean and kept warm as can be.

Nothing really all good! Mattresses are abit sweaty plastic but if you bring a decent fitted sheet all good :)
