The location is amazing; the neighborhood is so quiet and pretty and right next to the property there was a bakery too, and it’s pretty close to the train station. The property itself is really beautiful too and a perfect mix of modern and traditional.
My only concern is that it was a bit dusty in some areas when we got there, and there were some small insects but I don’t think that’s the fault of the property.

House was really comfortable and relaxing to be in. The cafe next door was a huge plus for the mornings. The pictures are just as lovely as the place itself and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Beautiful bathroom with a laundry machine. Beautiful garden.
The hotel front desk check in was too far to walk to from the property so we had to take a short taxi ride to our rental.

The Ryoken was absolutely beautiful and it was a great experience for our family. The location was very central to all the beautiful places we wanted to visit for our trip. We also hired bikes to get around and explore Kyoto.
Having to check in at the hotel first and not having parking for the bikes we hired

A beautiful property with beautiful features and interior. Great location; walk to castle and Imperial Palace and short walk to station. Very helpful staff based at the hotel. Excellent for a family. Very comfortable, warm, thick duvets as it was very cold.
The hotel didn’t offer any help in transferring luggage to the property. It requires a short taxi ride to transfer luggage, although the station was very close.
