County House - THE WHITE APARTMENT

Keys were in a good spot, but not in obvious location. However, host is responsive so not a problem. Basic kitchen utensils perfect for short stays.

The TV didn't work and no hot water

Positives - Great location, and secure parking. 5 minute walk to the Minster and Monkgate. Apartment is nicely furnished,, kitchen has what you need.

Carpets need cleaning or replacing, and bathroom needs to be improved. Sink is cracked and has been filled. Water heating is an issue - this has to be manually switched on an hour or two before being needed. Once it is heated, it is dangerously hot, with no way of regulating the temperature other than running the cold tap. Showering was a burn/freeze experience until you got the mix right. Heating in downstairs bedroom doesn't seem to be working. We couldnt get the TV to work. Wifi details sent to us don't match the router, but we figured it out.

Apartment was a good size for 3 adults, all family. Beds comfy. Quite close to the cathedral area. Car space good if you need it. Flat cosy

Parents didn't find the large couch comfy. Very similar feedback from others. The flat owner should see the flat now and take on comments raised over the year. I think he lives outside UK.. The hall carpet and stairs are dirty and tired. The hoit water...you need to read the manual and each time you need it, you need to go into small cupboard upstairs, duck into a small door- to move the switch to get hot water, else there is none - .workable but awkward. Shower temp hard to control with the hot water issue. TV remote needed batteries and had to manually change volume on TV at the back. Please just get a new TV (power button issue) and get your cleaner to check batteries. Needed oven gloves and another dish towel. Couldn't read oven knobs for temperature or settings, just guessed.. Flat needs a visit and some tlc from the owner for the issues raised to make it that touch better. Upstairs bedroom v hot with heat rising from living room. There is a fan but I didn't keep it on all night. We had a 3 days stay and was fine with those small bugging issues but longer it would have be different especially with washing machine not working, or owner doesn't want to pay upkeep. Good flat with a few issues that could be fixed/ cleaned.

Lovely decor and building. Really easy and flexible check in. Comfortable beds. Wonderful location close to all York central attractions. Great value. Secure free parking in the forecourt visible from the apartment windows.

If I have to criticise, the bathroom could do with an upgrade and a towel rail would be handy.

Wow, this was the most comfortable place to stay on my entire European trip! Super clean and quiet building also, the fenced in parking was awesome for the motorcycle that I rented

DUE TO DESIGN OF CONVERSION WINDOWS COULD NOT BE OPENED AND IT WAS A VERY HOT NIGHT (FAN WAS PROVIDED) BUT IT WAS UNCOMFORTABLE. ALSO KITCHEN SHOWING SIGNS OF W&T BUT TO BE HONEST IT WAS PRICES ACCORDINGLY

Very nice apartment, plenty of space, lovely beds, good kitchen facilities, perfect location for visiting York centre.

No hot water in the bathroom both mornings of our stay (approx 8.30 shower), poor wifi.
