Beautiful view, pool is the perfect temperature and very clean, delicious food, lovely hosts

Large room with some nice decorative touches Great visual and sound effect of the high tide hitting the sea wall. To be fair I probably would have rated this hotel a bit higher if we hadn't stayed at such an excellent boutique hotel for 3 nights prior to this one.

Mixed feelings about owners/ management performance. On the one hand they seemed happy to chat with guests but we occasionally got the feeling that they were enjoying the facilities a little too much at the expense of their guests. Just one example of this was watcing them eat in the dining area while we (with a 7 year old) and 3 other tables waited 1 hour for our food. In general the wait times for food/ drinks were lengthy and the excuses didn't really add up. The food was of fair quality but waiting 1 hour for average calamari/ geilled fish with no side sauce when there were only approximately 8- 10 guests in the dining area isn't particularly high performance. While the local staff provided good service there didn't seem to be good synergy between them and management. Strong smell coming from the bathroom including occasional sewerage smells in the morning. As we had already stayed 3 nights at another beachside hotel we knew it wasn't due to a seaweed smell.

I would like to start this review by saying that if I could then I would rate this property 11/10! This is easily the best hotel stay I've ever had (not only in Tanzania). The hotel is just great, it's not big, but it's amazingly beautiful, everythings fresh and clean. The rooms ar amazing and the service is out of this world. And the staff who works there was one of the kindest and friendliest. But the best thing of this hotel are the Italian family that runs the hotel and also the family that runs the restaurant. We felt so good, welcomed and basically we felt like we've been friends for a long time - they are truly great people and I was sad to leave the hotel. Can't forget to mention the restaurant - 10/10, if you like Italian cuisine then you will love the menu they have as much as I loved it. Everything was so delicous, fresh and versatile. I recommend this botique hotel to everyone! Thank you Lisa for the amazing stay we had.

Bathroom too dark, no magnifying mirror, nothing going on in the evening. Concrete under the sand in front of our bungalow, banged my toes a few times

Beautiful hotel and amazing rooms facing onto the beach

The hotel was great, but i have only one negative point which I hope they can see as an area to improve. I’ve worked in hotels for a decade and in my opinion and the industry standards we don’t make money from arranging taxis for guests. For a taxi to Paje (10minutes down the road) they charged 20USD each way onto our room bill. In my opinion hotels shouldn’t try to profit this much off guests taking taxis to and from the hotel. It should be something they help organise for their guests and do not take the money. After taking this once, we found a local driver who charged us 3/4USD each way which is a lot more reasonable

The airline lost our bags, and Milele took up the task of communicating with them several times to ensure they got to us safely and even let us borrow a shirt. We really appreciated this extra step taken by the lodge without our needing to worry after a day of travelling. The whole team was really warm and welcoming, and we felt cozy and at home. Also, the Italian food here is superb!

It took us too long to realise how good the Italian food is, we will continue to dream of that bolognaise and the amazing pizza. Really, this should be advertised as extra special :)

We loved our time at Milele. It was the perfect escape after a week on safari. The resort has a wonderful vibe where you are not just a number but feel like a guest. The team is always there to welcome you and check in on how you are doing. They are able to set up excursions, give recommendations, and the food is amazing. On top of this they do anything to make your stay feel extra special. We also had an emergency the day before our stay where our other hotel cancelled on us. Lisa and the team at Milele was able to make room for us at the last minute and set up a ride from the airport just hours before our flight arrived. We were in love with our room with a balcony that overlooked the beach. We would have breakfast with our feet in the sand and watch the waves come in. It was wonderful. Milele is the perfect combination of secluded but also close enough to explore different areas on the island. We would go and explore during the day but were always happy to come back and relax in our little oasis. Thank you to the entire team at Milele. We would recommend this place to everyone and hope to come back one day.
