Galle Side HomeStay

It was a very bad hotel, I came at night, the owner is an alcoholic, he said that the place I booked 3 months ago is full... He took me to his house, showed me a room and demanded twice more than what I booked. he took it out... It was a very bad place, I don't recommend it at all

This was a good budget homestay for visiting Galle. It's situated right next to a temple, so very easy to find & a short easy walk to catch a bus to Galle Fort. Also not far for a tuk tuk back at night. The room was basic, but comfortable with a bathroom shared with other guests. The host's mother was there when I arrived and looked after me while there. A simple breakfast was served. There was a problem with wi-fi one day, but it was quickly resolved after sending a message to the host and the family also organised a tuk tuk to arrive to take me to the station when leaving. It was pleasure to to meet the owner & her husband.

it was overall a satisfied homestay. we asked for string hoppers with an egg curry for breakfast and it was nice, the hospitality of the staff also very good also we received a welcome drink

The owner was very nice. Location was great because not far by bus from Galle fort and Unawatuna. Internet worked very well.

My room was extremely hot despite the fan. Lots of mosquito, I counted 40, I killed at least 20 in 1 night (you would have a mosquito net). Also the nearby temple start "singing" and "music" at 4am, not the best place for light sleepers. Also, the neighbour has a chimney (where they burn stuff at anytime) in front of the window, which may result in headache or nausea if you slept with the window open to fight the heat. To be fair the other 2 rooms face the other side, so they should not have the smell issue. Bathroom is not private like it seemed but shared among all guests.

The owner is so irresponsible.. The room we reserved via booking.com was not available once we reached the location.. They didnt even bother to inform us before coming.. Offered a low quality unclean room which we refused..

Very helpful and happy couple running the property. Great value for money.

One of the rooms didnt have a working AC, another didn't have a fan, one of the rooms which we didn't need had been given to another guest. Only 2 bathrooms for the other 4 rooms, which is a bit less.
