Well, the staff is genuinely welcoming and goes out of their way to help us. The food is not excellent, but it's not bad either, especially considering the town you are in. It's also close to the happening places in town

While there's room for improvement, like the perpetually non-functional AC, slightly uncomfortable beds, and a bit too many mosquitoes, it still stands as one of the better options in the vicinity.

I had a great stay at Kangaroo Hotel. The bed was very comfortable with a big mosquito net, the WiFi was good, and buffet breakfast was nice and big, and I had lots of hot water for showers. Nicky at reception spoke very good English and was really helpful. The location is just a two minute walk from the main market, which is fun to visit. There are lots of taxis nearby to take you around Bujumbura. Highly recommend!
