Every stay comes with small imperfections, and that’s completely fine. I never leave negative reviews, but this time I feel it’s important to inform the hosts. Unfortunately, all the towels and bed linen had such an overpowering smell of dampness that it was almost unbearable. The entire house carried the same musty odor. I even tried washing everything, since the house has a washing machine, but—as expected—that smell (like laundry left wet for too long) could not be removed. It’s hard to believe that a rental property can’t invest a small amount of money into replacing towels and bedding. Similarly, we had to wash all the dishes before using them due to a stale smell. The non-stick pans were scratched and damaged—completely unsafe for use. The house itself is beautiful and has great potential, which makes it even more unfortunate that these easily fixable issues seem to be overlooked by the hosts. Everything else was at a solid level.

Great place to stay, very clean and well equipped and the owner super friendly. We had a really nice stay and to the center it’s only about a 15 minute walk.

The staff was very nice and the size of the house is perfect for 3. The outside area is also nice. The kitchen was well equipped and the sofa bed was comfortable which was great. The bathroom is spacious and good water pressure. Quick walk to Funchal center.

There was an issue on the bathroom window. It was not possible to close so the insects came in.. I was bitten every single night even with plugged insecticide in every room (we bought 3). Also there was good if there was more amenities like plastic bags to the bin, insecticide, barbecue fan, coffee express machine and some more towels.

Beautiful location, near the centre of Funchal, only 15 minutes by foot (but beware of the rises). Perfect dimension for two people. Very useful the laundry in the outside with the washing machine and cleaning products (there are also two beach umbrella).

If you do not open the windows in the living room/kitchen the air tends to become stuffy and a little smelly. But it is enough to open the windows to get rid of it (or use a glade plugin to cover it). You can park the car in front of the house but the street is very steep (as the majority of Madeira roads) and manoeuvres can be challenging. However you can usually find a good parking spot in the street below.

We stayed a long weekend in the house, which was perfect: very calm, nicely equipped and in 10 min walk you are in the center where the restaurants and poncha is. We found a parking next to the house. Contact with the owner easy

I stayed in the house for a month and I have nothing to complain about. The house is in great condition. Quiet neighbourhood. Very well equipped for longer term stay.
