Francesco and Barbara went above and beyond to make sure we had a lively stay in Ortigia and everything we needed.

As IT professionals conducting meetings over the internet, adequate internet connectivity is an essential requirement for accommodation. The property's internet service fell below the standard necessary for video calls, rendering the accommodation unsuitable for our needs. With an imminent international call scheduled within an hour of taking occupancy and no time for remediation attempts, we sought alternative accommodation immediately. While the property owner subsequently disputed our assessment of the internet quality, our IT expertise enables us to professionally verify that the connection failed to meet requirements on the multiple storey property and the risk of potential connectivity issues during our scheduled middle-of-the-night calls was very vulnerable - technical support would be unavailable at such hours. The owner declined refund, partial or full, citing personal financial obligations including mortgage payments and educational expenses. While we understand these circumstances, they do not absolve the responsibility to provide what has become an essential service in today's digital environment. We were further disappointed with Booking.com's limited role in such situations. Although they promptly accepted our lack of this fundamental service, all they could do was refund their commission to us, as they acknowledged having no authority over property owners to deliver fit-for-purpose accommodation and could not enforce refund when a financially-stretched owner simply refuses. This raises significant concerns about the platform's ability to maintain quality standards and protect consumer interests. Reliable internet connectivity should be considered as fundamental as other basic amenities such as functioning shower and toilet, with clear recourse available when services fail to meet reasonable standards.

I had a wonderful stay in Ortigia! The house was clean, beautifully organized, and provided everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Francesco, the owner, was incredibly helpful and took the time to explain everything about the place, making the stay even more enjoyable. I will definitely return and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Ortigia!

The location was great and owner Francesco was very helpful for our arrival and departures. He picked us up at the Talete parking with our luggage and when we left we loaded our bags into his car to take us back to Talete. The place is spacious and worked out great for 3—me and my sisters.

Our family absolutely loved staying at this beautiful authentic sicilian house! We were 3 adults and 3 kids but it could actually accommodate 7 people easily. The house had everything you need and it actually looks much more spacious in real life than in the pictures so we were very pleased when we arrived. The terrace is beautiful and has a really beautiful seaview. The seaside is right on the corner and the location is just ideal to explore Ortigia. The owners of the house are the most kindest and most helpful people you will ever meet! No wonder they got so much praise! Amazing family! It's a pity we didn't get a chance to visit their restaurant as we tried to see as much as possible and left it to the very last minute and came back too late in the night just before closing. We passed it just before we left and the beautiful interior and the fascinating music coming out from it amazed us! We will definetely return just to visit it one day! We travelled through the whole Sicily and Ortigia has absolutely won the first place in our hearts! And this house made our trip into the most unforgettable expierence we would highly recommend. Our only regret is not staying there for longer.

Great location, comfortable beds, 2 Bathrooms Terrace with Seaview TV was easy and had Netflix kitchen well equipped

The Location is great, deep in the island of ortigia in Siracusa with two possibilities to swim in the sea + the promenade with different restaurants and bars nearby. (Only thing is that bigger supermarkets are just on the main land). The Terrace is very nice and gives enough space for 6 or even more people. The Host was also very nice and kind.

The Kitchen is not super well equipped and would be a little small for 6 people if you want to eat there, but normally you will always eat on the big terrace anyway. The Bikes are not really in good shape, so just plan with them for little rides on the island.
