Amazing stay at Casa Gitana!! Would definitely stay again.

In the middle of paradise

We had a very nice time in Casa Gitana: it’s located right at the beach, the hotel is designed with an eye for details, with a chukum pool and beautiful palapa. When we arrived Ari welcomed us very nicely. There are tasty tamales and bollis in menu and once a week there was a chef coming to cook a dinner (we loved it). Very good vibes and sence of community, ojala we will come again.

There was a management change during our stay and the previous manager was very welcoming and spoke good English. It was a pity that she left because people who stayed (also very friendly) were overwhelmed with the tasks. Hopefully they find a good replacement soon. In general the staff was very helpful.

Calm, clean, good view from the pool area. Very helpful staff.

Last minute room change even though we paid for the room in advance. The room was better with A/C and private bathroom, but instead of having a tippy with ocean view, we got a room facing the back ”garden”. No hot water. Only breakfast from 9-11. Would be nice if they served food all day.

Peaceful location, comfortable beds, beautiful design. It’s very convenient that there’s a fridge and storage room available.

The rooms are a bit small and the ones in the back definitely miss the sea-view romance. The common sitting area could be freshened up with new cushions. Keep in mind that you cannot swim in the ocean right in front of the hotel and there are tons of mosquitos at night (the net keeps them out of the room tho).

The stunning views. I booked the double room with sea view at it was perfect. I loved that they had free coffee and water station for all the guests.

It was very unclean. Bins overflowing. Didn’t get change of towels, sheets or any room service for 3 nights stay This would be a simple fix to make this a much nicer stay

If you want peace and quiet, it‘s an ideal place to stay. The room is not too small. At first glance, the property looks nice.

If you look more closely, there are lots of things that we didn‘t like. There were dirty q tips on the sunbeds, the sunbeds and other ‚furnitere‘ were not well taken care of. The first day the toilets were clean, but it quickly deteriorated. The first day we got there, we were confused as to how to get to Chacahua and in that critical moment, Ari was not reachable even though she had been reachable just before. The cleanliness was generally not up to par. The shared fridge was filthy. The bed linens were also not clean, there was a white spot on one. The drink station was never filled up, bins were not emptied as often as they should have been. In the reviews we read that Ari was always there and reachable but we only briefly saw her on our first day and then never again. It was a bit daunting and we felt quite alone, especially since the power went out on our last night and we had no way of communicating with anyone since there is no real service on the island.
