Casa Gitana -Only Adults-

While the hotel was well-equipped and functioned properly, we did have some concerns that we wanted to address. Chacahua is changing quickly, with more buildings being constructed along the beach. This hotel is one of the newer establishments in the area. The beach serves as a refuge for turtles, and the influx of artificial light and tourists can harm their natural habitats. We felt a bit guilty staying there and essentially supporting the growing hotel business in Chacahua, especially since there are also camping spots and more eco-friendly lodging options available. What bothered us was that the hotel is marketed as an "eco-friendly resort," which didn't seem accurate. It felt more like a luxurious getaway, complete with a rooftop pool, hot tub, trendy music in the bar, and a hipster gray aesthetic. The so-called "cross ventilation" in the rooms was ineffective, making it necessary to turn on the air conditioning just to make the ground-floor rooms comfortable. This was disappointing because we had hoped to enjoy the sounds of the ocean and connect with nature during our stay.

The place is beautiful (both the buildings and surrounding), and the location is perfect (about 15 min walk to the center of Chacahua, and right in front of the beach which was very beautiful, and almost empty). There was an issue with our bungalow, but the staff was very helpful and understanding, and we ended up changing rooms in stead. The rooms were beautiful, and definitely made up for the work/inconvenience of moving places. The common areas are great, and have a very welcoming, warm and calm vibe. Best recommendations from us!

Everything about Casa Gitana is exceptional - from the staff/management, to the location, rooms and bar and pool area. Like many others staying here, I kept extending my stay as it was so perfect. I stayed in a number of different rooms and loved all of them. The atmosphere created by the staff/management and guests is unmatched. Special shoutout and thanks to Noe and Martin for their exceptional hospitality - they make you feel like you’re in a home away from home. Likewise the owner Juan-Mi who was very generous and helpful.

Nothing! Everything was perfect. Although it’s slightly on the expensive side for the area, it’s worth every dollar.

The pool/bar area is very nice and the hotel is well designed. The view from our room was amazing and there were some nice evening events (communal dinner, music night). These made it easy so socialize. The staff, especially the volunteers, were very friendly and helpful. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

There were a few details that would have made the experience more pleasant, especially for the rather high price. We would have expected some more amenities, eg bedside lamps, complimentary coffee/tea in the rooms (or at least at the bar), cleaning the sand from the floor, a towel/rug to clean the sand off your feet, towels by the pool... We also asked for the room to be cleaned upon arrival, as there were some finger and face/lip prints on the glass doors, (previous guests') hair in the shower and the surfaces in general weren't clean. This wasn't done. Food and drinks were quite expensive for what it was. Communication with the hotel before our arrival was tedious; we did not receive instructions on how to get to Chacahua (it's a bit complicated) in time and had to rely on information from other hotel websites.

It was great to have a pool and a cafe. The food was amazing and a really nice vibe. There was also a place to do yoga/workouts which we appreciated.

It was a little further out than some other places, about 18mins from the beach but the quality of the place made up for that. And the walk along the beach is really nice so it’s not too bad!!

Super cute accommodation. Room was large and clean. Airco worked great, but room got cold enough by using the ceiling fan only. But great to have options! Bedroom was bug free. Bed large and comfortable. Cute Airbnb, felt like a family owned business which was nice. Great breakfast options! Pool looked clean and area a was nice to hang out at. Location not too far from the “main buzz” right on the beach.

It’s exactly as you see in the pictures! A paradise. Excellent staff, great vibes! A hidden gem in Mexico.

The hotel is for me overpriced for the service offered. The structure is nice, the pool is very nice and clean and position is great, 15 minutes walk from town but in front of the beach. But for that price I would expect the room cleaned every day, at least like removing sand from the floor or emptying the bin as you cannot flush toilet paper. And that wasn’t done. We booked a sea view room and we didn’t have sea view, I wrote to make the remark and no one replied. As it’s a bit far you end up eating sometimes at the hotel, and I find food overpriced and not very good :/

Beautiful property - so serene and peaceful. Secluded from main part of beach which was really nice. Felt like personal oasis

Disappointing stay overall. No arrival information was provided, and the access to the property was complicated—we had to figure it out on our own. The floor in my room was dirty upon arrival, and during our 3-day stay, it was never cleaned or even swept. To make matters worse, when I packed up, I found two scorpions under my bags. On the second day, my friend was bitten by bedbugs in his room. The owner, who was on-site, didn’t make any effort to talk to him or apologize. Breakfast starts at 8:30, which is far too late for anyone planning an early trip to the beach. The price was also more than double the usual rate because of New Year’s, but the service and experience were nowhere near worth it.
