Heyner and his family warmly welcomed us to their finca where they grow all kind of fruits and vegetables and they also have cows, goats, horses, chickens and a turkey. It was a lovely experience to get back to basics and see the rural site of Costa Rica. The cabins are basic, but have everything you need: beds with a fan, a shower, mosquito nets and a small kitchen. Dinner and breakfast were delicious too. We are very happy that we came here :)

Amazing experience, the host and family were so nice and accommodating. We had tea with the host and it was freshly cooked and very tasty 😋. It was difficult sleeping under a fly net at first but you soon get used to it 😁 Thanks so much for a wonderful stay 🙏

We absolutely loved it ! If you're staying at La Muñequita Lodge, you are not just booking a random place to sleep : you are experiencing probably the most authentic and amazing experience in Costa Rica ! You'll be sleeping in a wooden caban, handmade, opened so you'll be litteraly sleeping amoung the flowers, the trees, the birds (red macaws, toucan...) ! Dont worry tho, there's light, fresh water, toilets, a great shower and everything you need ! It's an enchanted garden where you have all the privaty and the calm you'll need ! The hosts are the nicest : they'll be giving you a tour of the farm, you'll be casually learning about local trees, fruits, eating fresh tropical fruits directly from the trees, you'll meet the cows, goats and their babies : if you're lucky enough as we were, you'll be milking the goats, feeding the babies ! Such a precious, magical and unforgettable moment for us... For the dinner, if you want it, they'll cook for you a delicious, consistent local meal, wich you'll be eating at their table, meeting the others tourists : such a precious moment too ! For the breakfast : traditional coffee, pancakes with syrup or if you are not tired of it : pinto gallo :) The pancakes were just delicious ! So close your eyes and book now ! =================== We thank you again for this magical afternoon, evening and morning spent with you ! If we ever coming back to Costa Rica, we will be staying once more at your place ! Pura Vida ! Elisa & Antoine Cheers from France

"Joyous Pura Vida!"

10.0

The short answer is, You want to stay here! This beautiful little farm is run by even more beautiful people. Heynar and his wife, who he calls his Little Doll, are joyous, enthusiastic, funny, and fun. Pura Vida in abundance. The food is ample and xlnt. The surroundings they have created over 10 years have fruits galore, and they raise goats and milk cows. Lots of birds on the property. The cabins are handmade, rustic, sparse, and completely charming. My bed was very comfortable. (Note that in coastal CR your bed might just have sheets, so if you are a colder sleeper you might want to bring something to sleep in.) We didn't experience mosquitoes in March. We chose La Muñequita as a jumping off point toward Sierpe and Drake Bay, arrived late afternoon and only stayed a day, but 2 nights would have been better. An about $8-10US taxi from Palmer Norte will get you there, and a $22US taxi will get you to the boat dock after your stay. My feeling is, travel is about the human connections you make that help you see a country and how people live. La Muñequita will last in my memory as a shining example.

"Unique experience"

10.0

We stayed 3 days at la Muñequita Lodge and it was just a wonderful experience. We have been very warmly welcomed by Heyner and his wife, they are both kind and are truly interested in people and sharing their culture. The place is so peaceful and true Costa Rican lifestyle in the middle of the goats, cows and chickens. Our Lodge was a big wodden cabina type with 2 separated bedrooms; filling and yummy breakfast are taken at Heyner and his wife's house where we can happily chat ans learn about nature, fruits they are growing... Also they offer dinner at their house as well if you want, we have eaten there the 3 nights we were there and the food was just delicious sharing the table with any other guests in the 2nd lodge. Our 2 kids 4 & 2 y.o loved being among the goats and cows and could feed them amd watch the milk so thank you Heyner and the whole farmer's team for taking the time to show us around... During the day you have couple of options, many parks around piernas blancas, corcovados or beaches playa de las Ventanas... We and the kids had an amazing time and can only recommend highly to stop by to have a true ans Unique Costa Rican experience.

Lovely little cabin to myself right on a little stream with so much wildlife to observe while chling out in a hammock on the second story balcony. The family invited me into their home, treated me like part of the family and cooked me 2 amazing meals.

It is a farm, so maybe not for everyone as there is alot of mud. But if you want to experience true costa Rican culture this is the perfect place.
