Quaintness and history

Location was peaceful, scenery was spectacular, breakfast was great, the inside was very comfortable and the fire just topped the whole experience.

Nothing the attention to detail was exceptional.

Peaceful and rustic, but comfortable and lovely. Drizzled all weekend but just sitting in front of the open fire was relaxing. Even though the mattress was way softer than we would like, we slept wonderfully and it was super comfortable. The breakfast provisions were ample and all you need, although there is an electric frypan supplied if you wanted to bring your own bacon & eggs for a hot breakfast. There is no DVD player as stated in the facilities. Puppy loved exploring the property, even with it being wet underfoot, there was plenty of grass so it wasn’t muddy, but it would be even better with some nice sunshine. Would definitely stay again if we were in the area.

Lots to love: the country location, super friendly and accommodating owner, attention to detail, the historical aspect, combustion stove with plenty of kindling and firewood, luxurious bed and bathroom, north-facing verandah for soaking up the winter sun, walking distance to Bethany winery. And that we could take our dog :)

Main downside for me was the darkness inside plus small living area, a function of the fact that it’s a renovated old stone cottage.

The easy of the access to the accommodation. Clean tidy and very pleasant. The views around the accommodation.

A little to cluttered for me, but understand why the items were there.
