Nothing, it was perfect

While rather small, this Air BnB was everything we needed for 3 people for a 4 day stay in Cartagena. Superbly located in the old city of Cartagena, everything was just a step away. The kitchen even had a washer, which was very useful since we had already been traveling for a week. The owner was very communicative via WhatsApp, though we never saw anyone. All the instructions came by email and they were sufficient to navigate our stay in the apartment and in Cartagena. Bare in mind that there is no parking in the old city. We left our rental car at the parking lot at the Convention Center and walked from there.

Good location, big apartament

Great location within the Walled City, next to shops and restaurants. Easy to walk from the apartment to all the attractions. Very comfortable and clean, nice big beds, three bathrooms and a well equipped kitchen. All the rooms have air conditioning and there are fans that you can put in the common area. Really great value for your money. You have to pick up keys three blocks away, but that wasn’t a problem; it’s a short walk and the hotel where you pick up has a 24hour desk. The apartment looks exactly like the photos.

The only downside is the lack of an elevator. You have to walk up three flights of stairs (it’s on the fourth floor) in the Cartagena heat. We had a big suitcase and it was a struggle to get it up and down… really broke up a sweat. But you only do it twice (entering and leaving) so it’s not that big of a problem. If you have mobility issues or are traveling with senior citizens, consider a different option. We saw that many hotels have stairs instead of elevators in the area, so this wasn’t that much different and the comfort of an apartment versus a hotel room is worth it. Other than that, no problems whatsoever.

The word utilitarian describes this room. Nothing homey about it but it does provide a/c, a working kitchen and is surprising quiet given how busy the street outside is.

The location was great as it was very close to the bus stop, grocery store, and the heart of the historic district. Also washer in unit but was adequate at best.

The first night we were there the bedroom and kitchen had such leaks that it was raining inside. 5 full size towels were not enough to soak up the atrocity. The only thing the hotel offered was someone to come out down towels and give us extra towels. That was it. The whole floor had standing water when I woke up in the middle of the night. Had to deal with the smell of mold and mildew the rest of the week. Not to mention the main entrance had a horrifically complex and worn out lock that you had to spend 3-5 min just trying to get into the building not to mention your room. They finally replaced the lock on our last night. Very condescending staff when I brought up issues. Will not return! Even if paid. Was ok enough to suffer through but not good enough to ever pay even half price to stay again. Even the bathroom window wasn't sealed or mounted properly so it also rained through those crevasses.

The location was good. Despite being in the historic center and close to everything, the street the apartment was on was very quiet at night. The kitchen was sufficiently supplied and the blender / liquidora was nice to have.

Having to go to a local hotel to retrieve keys for the apartment and then walk a few blocks in Cartagena heat with luggage is not ideal. The only a/c unit in the apartment is in the bedroom and it is not really sufficient to cool the entire apartment, especially since it only works while you are in the apartment. The apartment is on the 4th floor of the building, but has an additional set of steep stairs up to the entry door, making it effectively 5th floor without elevator.
