"Exceptional"

Staff were excellent, warm, and welcoming. It was sweltering hot this week, and they provided a fan in the room and had closed the curtains before I checked in to try and keep the room cool - very considerate.

The food was excellent a few times and ok the rest. My breakfast on the first morning was the best I've ever had. It was nice the second day and average on the third. Dinner was a mixed bag.

"All good apart from the heat"

Room was comfortable and breakfast all good. It was nice and quiet, especially considering it looks out onto a road.

It was incredibly hot, and I would have liked to open a window but it didn't seem to be possible in the room.

"A very pleasant spot to explore the area from."

Lovely characterful spot. Very comfortable room and bed. Pleasant environment.

A wee bit awkward getting luggage up to bedroom -narrow stairs with door halfway up -not suitable for people with mobility issues. Also steps down into restaurant.

Staff where friendly, location, parking

The food was very greasy and overly salty, and both of us ended up with upset stomachs afterwards. Eating out is expensive these days, so I expect better quality. The mattress and pillows were also uncomfortable, and we didn’t get a good night’s sleep. Decent food and proper rest are important when booking a hotel in my opinion, and this really let the stay down, even with the 20% discount.
