Farr Bay Inn

The location was great, on NC500, by Strathnaver Museum and Farr Beach. Room was comfortable and stylish and breakfast was great. (Not far from Bettyhill Hotel where we fortunately could get in for a meal, but may need to book!)

Poor WiFi - unfortunate but you know this and hope it is being actioned with BT. Some of the info needs updating eg “just look out for the flags” - there weren’t any and the signs were very small! Also the hotel had no bar or restaurant but it was still mentioned in the room guide. Felt a bit overwhelmed with online messages before we arrived - from checkin, registration details to booking a time for breakfast….

Farr Bay Inn is a real gem. A home away from home. The attention to detail and all of the small touches of comfort across the whole Inn is wonderful and you truly feel part of the family here. The beach is wonderful and one of our favourites from the North Coast route.

Bit remote, rooms a bit small

* Le petit déjeuner (une partie servie à table et une partie en libre service) - très bon, varié, efficace * La situation géographique, sur la NC500, avec une plage magnifique et très calme à 5 minutes * Chambre spacieuse, arrivée autonome

* Les chambres lits jumeaux n'ont pas été rénovées récemment et donc présentent un style un peu ancien (ce qui n'est pas un problème). Cependant, odeur d'humidité en fond et salle bain très très petite, pas pratique (il ne faut pas être trop grand pour la douche ou envisager de laver des cheveux longs).

Tout était parfait : emplacement petit-déjeuner , accueil et le cottage très confortable

This characterful Inn is in a beautiful, unspoiled area close to a beach and within driving distance of a large hotel for dinner. (Other guests told us they had booked dinner at the hotel months ahead of time. We were able to squeeze in.) The room was small but very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Cooked to order.

We were informed of the entry procedure by email. Even with that information, we were unfamiliar with how to access the key and needed help from other guests who happened to arrive at the same time. We had questions about online connectivity, but couldn't find anyone to ask. (It was posted in the entry hall we discovered on our way out.) The whole check-in process was impersonal.

Breakfast was great. Staff super friendly. And beach walk was breathtaking.
