Good bedroom lots of headroom and space. Good space in the bathroom and good pressure to the shower. Quiet location.

Regretfully found out after booking that breakfast was not available and being a Monday no evening food either.

"Excellent"

No breakfast included, but that available at the nearby Rose and Crown was very good. Location yards from waterfront was perfect and very close to where my friends were staying at 1 High Street. Food we had Thursday evening was excellent and enjoyed by all.

Nowhere to put stuff in the shower.

The location is good. The room was adequate.

1. Bathroom was fine - if you like showers that are barely tepid. We were unable to shower in the morning because the water wasn't hot. There was nobody in the pub to speak to about this, either at the time or when we left shortly afterwards. 2. I would like to have been informed in advance that access to the room is via a very steep staircase. My husband is 87 and found this difficult.

Really clean and tidy. Lovely decor. Friendly staff. Great little pub, close to all the amenities. Can't fault it really - no sugar sachets for my coffee in morning, but that's good for me.

Great friendly, accommodating venue. Was looking for an few easy days out of London with my 12yr-old son. Only a few few meters off the river Colne towpath. Great nautical decor. Relaxing beer garden. Well kept local real ales. A combo of local musicians happened to be informally jamming one night - created a fun vibe, without being in your face. Will deffo nip up there again 🏆

"Amazing little find"

Lovely pub and room was very big and comfortable. It was in a convenient location for Colchester castle.

Everything was perfect, only thing was missing was sugar for tea!
