Evening meal excellent

No breakfast provided but plenty of tea/coffee. Steep stairs, no offer of help with suitcase. Shower did not have cold water to offset piping hot water, also water leakage flooding bathroom floor.

Lovely location. Good access to walks, the Quay and other parts of Lower Wivenhoe. Decor tastefully done and in keeping with the historic building. Staff had left additional beverage supplies for our 4 day stay and directed us to additional towels. Food available downstairs. Not currently offering breakfast but there are a number of options within easy walking distance. Very helpful staff.

The property was fine for the members of our family staying there but the stairs up to the rooms are steep with a deep tread (as might be expected for the age of the building) and would prove a challenge for those with impaired mobility.

The staff were helpful but it took a while to sort a couple of items like the wifi.
