Hostal La Casa del Sol

Nice place in a good location to access everything in Copacabana, close to the main square and cathedral. The rooms are large and there is a nice garden area in the sun. There are enough blankets to keep you warm at night which are very heavy. The hosts were friendly and gave us recommendations for visiting Isla del Sol. Breakfast was very nice and plentiful. It was quiet at night.

The host charged us for the room in Boliviano using an incorrect exchange rate which meant we would have paid extra for the room than it said on Booking. We queried it and showed him the current exchange rate for Boliviano on Google and he said that they use a different exchange rate and he was unwilling to use the one stated online. He agreed we could pay in dollars at the rate we booked on Booking. I was unable to join the Wi-Fi but my partner was and it was very slow. We didn’t have a hot shower which was a problem as it was very cold in Copacabana in the mornings and evenings and we both got electric shocks from using the shower. The room was very cold at night/early in the morning. You can hear guests in the adjoining rooms very loudly.

The breakfast was really good, the property is very relaxing and well presented. The owner has very helpful and the dogs were great.

Loved this hostel, very friendly and accommodating owner and my room (the private room that sits slightly apart from the rest of the complex) was spacious and very nice, if a little chilly at night/in the morning (but the bed is very warm). Plus two very cute dogs!

Only real issue was the shower wasn't warm which isn't ideal in the cold mornings - however, I didn't mention this to the owner as I was only there two nights so it might be completely fixable and I just didn't realise!

I loved it here! It's really beautiful and my room was big with a nice mural on the wall. I slept so well here (rare for me). Better than the photos. The hosts and dogs are super sweet and breakfast is good too :) my laundry also smelt lush.

Felt really safe as a solo female traveler and the owners were extremely helpful and kind! really loved it and the breakfast was perfect

The bathroom and shower are really big and room includes a living room with coach. The owners were really friendly and the breakfast was good. Room was nice and clean.

The shower was not that warm and it got really cold at night. Bed was not so comfortable.
