Pousada Brisa do Leste

The staff had no idea how to even direct us to the bus station . No knowledge of surrounding areas. We were greeted by a friendly lady who was very accommodating. She told us we could choose breakfast time and also we could ask for help for local things to do and directions. We never saw the lady again. Breakfast time was not flexible even by 30mins . For the price this was a tiny cramped room . The bathroom was awful with views onto the surrounding rooftops . The noise at night was unbearable until around midnight . If the price had been lower I would not have expected as much . I do however believe that the reviews on this property are fake .

The host who received us was kind. She shared 2 power adapter with us. The place was quiet and the main bedroom was clean (see below). Breakfast was ok. Far from an excellent breakfast when compared to the Brazilian standards for hotel breakfast. Location near the bus station

- the closet smelled old and mold, it triggered allergies on us. We had to keep it closed. - the blanket which was in the closet was smelly as well. We asked them to replace it, but they didn’t have an extra. They got it to wash it but we never received it back. - bed sheets were old. - extra towel fees (this is the first place I stay that charges for extra towels). To be fair they waived the fees after we complained about the blanket. - shower curtain rod kept falling. - TV was in the right spot to hit my head every time I was passing by. There was no way to remove it out of the way. - Breakfast may impress foreigners, but for Brazilian standards it was lacking. They offer bread but there is no jam or cream cheese. At max you get butter. The egg portion is too small for 2 people. There are barely other sources of protein. They have some deli in the tapioca or as cheese in the last day. I read in previous reviews that the owner kept bringing food to the breakfast, that would be the expectation for a pousada in Brazil, but something must have changed as that didn’t happen while we were there.

The breakfast was big and the owner was bringing us more and more food, it was very kind.

None spoke English, the location was so-so, it was good only because it was close to the bus station, oversize would recommend other location.

Great value for money. Not the most salubrious of locations but the locals were really friendly and it felt safe (even though might not have looked safe). Betty was a great host - she clearly loves cooking and looking after her guests. Breakfasts were great - fresh fruit, eggs, cakes - lots on offer

Location is good - close to the main streets but quiet. Breakfast is wonderful - fruits, cakes, juices, eggs, breads etc. Hospitality is outstanding, extremely polite, welcoming, helpful. Daily cleaning service for room. Was able to check in very late which we appreciated. The accomodation isn’t top luxury, but it’s very comfortable, clean and everything works well.

One of the best pousadas we stayed at in Brazil. The facilities are simple but perfectly curated. The room was cleaned every day and the staff made our bed which was such a nice touch. Breakfast included an incredible range of delicious home-made breads, cakes, and freshly squeezed fruit juices. The Pousada is located in the middle of a residential area so we felt like we were a part of the Paraty community. But the real super star of Pousada Brisa do Leste is the wonderful Betti who made us feel so welcome and took care of us like we were family. If you’re looking for an authentic experience surrounded by genuine people, this is the place for you.
