Needs a lick of paint and out the way when visiting open air theatre.

The room and the inn were pretty much what I expected them to be. The room was small but very comfortable, and the bed was a double, rather than a single, which was a nice surprise. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was spacious, and it was quiet after end of trade. Situated next to a small shop and at the end of one of the most beautiful streets of Scarborough. Only thing is, very difficult to find food in the area after 10 pm, so make sure you stock up. The staff seemed lovely though - but overworked!

Obviously it was kind of expensive for what it was but that's festival weekend prices for you. It was tidy but it wasn't very clean - everything was sticky, even the carpet. Lots of black gunk came out of the shower surfaces when the shower was on. Also shower boiler is really confusing (but aren't they usually?)

The location was convenient. Staff were friendly. Bed was comfy.

As soon as we were led upstairs to the rooms it STUNK of marijuana like absolutely REEKED. The actual room also smelled weird? Like damp. Wasn't very clean. The shower was full of black mold on the shower head, floor and door. Just seriously stunk of weed made me feel sick it's like somebody was smoking it in the room with us it was THAT strong. Left as early as we could. If I could get my money back I'd love to, just wasn't worth it.

Very disappointed from walking into the bar the smell hits you straight away a strong stale damp smell that continues up the stairs. Very tired decor needs a lot of attention starting by ripping the carpets up. The room itself was no better dirty smelly and very outdated. Iron burn on the carpet sofa old and dirty kettle about 20 years old covered with limescale inside and water left in. I didn't even dare look in the fridge. The bathroom was terrible. Mold in the grout and silicone shower screen are not fixed properly. The window in the bedroom when open rattles very loudly it was very warm in the room hence why it was open. I don't like complaining but I was shocked that this place has had good reviews. I Booked just for one night thank God not any longer, totally not worth £160.00 I definitely will not recommend this place!.
